I am just wondering why we have tackling woes this year. I am seeing most of our players try to tackle around the arm or waist and miss most of them.
Why do they not tackle them below? Does this come from our stupid DCs?

This type of tackling comes up as issues when we match up teams like FL with great team speed.

Man this is not LSU defense..

Comments guys???

Looks like they are more worried about stripping the ball than making the tackle!

Because our offense is getting the most tackling work this year.

I agree with you 100 percent. I wrote this the other night on here, but only response I got was someone who blasted me for my lack of posts on the site. In any case, I have made the same observation. We do not wrap up and tackle. Poor fundamentals which is very alarming. Hopefully Les has recognized this, its been going on all season.

i think its because they are going for the big hit instead of rapping up and bring them down.
By the way, i think that Patrick Peterson is the best person in the secondary. Why doesnt he get more playing time? thats what i want to know.

They are pressing too hard and trying to make plays. The are trying to get turnovers, instead of letting the turnovers come naturally.

I think that this is the main thing this year. Last week against Bama it was better but we still just need to wrap up the ball carrier.

They're trying to strip and regardless of my preference, it did save us a touchdown in the first three minutes of the game.

Agree. We have to be the worst tackling team in the country. It is a lack of discipline and proper technique. Too many arm tackles and not enough physicallity. Hopefully we'll improve in this aspect of the game also real soon. Bad tackling can make a major difference in a ballgame.

that was one of the things I noticed during the game...and it really pissed me off, because bammers were gaining an extra five yds after contact on just about every tackle...they were trying to tackle shoulder high...three lsu defenders trying to tackle julio, and all three were around the shoulders, i know they like to go for the strip, but crap, sometimes you just have to put them on the ground...they gained an extra fifty yds of rushing because of poor tackling...but they did play one heck of a game..great improvement, I was proud of the way the defense came back time after time...
