Cool article from ATVS. Shows that defense eases up when we have a big lead. Makes sense really. DBs play back more, trade underneath stuff to protect long TDs when we are up big.

That and a few blown coverages really have exaggerated our defensive struggle.

Focus will have no bearing on the next game

Personally i don't think it is focus. I think it is just by design.

Lots of defenses give up the underneath stuff.

We just happened to play a Top 10 defense OOC who took advantage of late game pass coverage.

Been sayin the exact same thing all year. I just think it's a leadership issue on the defense. Someone has to step up an not allow mediocre performances.

good job to get the stats together to show what we all could see.

what is the issue? does coaching switch gears to trade yardage for running the clock? is it lack of player leadership?

we generally let up on offense as well. he didn't address that.

Hoping that Jalen Mills can fix this.

The lack of focus is troubling, but happens to every defense.

It's the blown coverages in every game that I'm worried about. That needs to be fixed.

I still refuse to believe that the defense doesn't have the ability to be dominant. They were dominant last year, and talent wise we are even better this year. The scheme is probably a little more complicated than it needs to be, but I think the big thing has been lack of energy. They were pumped up against UF and our defense would have been dominant if not for a few communication mix-ups, the most elusive QB we will face all year, and a 50 yard pass where the defender just didn't turn his head around.

They are goo and can be dominant. I expect them to shut down Bama's running attack and force Coker to throw. The only things I am worried about are Kiffen calling plays to confuse us, and Calvin Ridley hitting a play over the top.

The 2015 LSU defense, as soon as it gets a lead, starts thinking about which cheerleader it is going to drunk dial.

Though the accusation is a little exciting, the overall statement is quite offensive and should provide some motivation.

Vs UF last @ 8min or 15 plays one positive gain allowed, the one 40yd completion. I think they can protect a lead and close with a W when putting their mind to it.
