The rant was full of amazing defensive stats after the miss state game. What changed leading to the Ole Miss game? Is it simply that Miss State is that bad? Or something else?

The defense forgot how to tackle...
coverage was bad, etc.... but the inability to fundamental things, such as, simply tackle the man carrying the ball has to be the most baffling part.

Yes, Moo Cow State will finish 4 & 8 overall, 0 & 8 in SEC play this season.

There was also a game against Arkansas in between there with terrible defense

Level and talent skills of the competition. Miss St is really one of the worst teams in the SEC, and if Vandy isn't on their schedule, they'll probably finish 0-8 in the SEC

MSU dropped a handful of passes too. That’s the worst looking offense I’ve seen in a while, they were awful.

Arkansas exposed our defensive flaws and Ole Miss nuked LSU's defense.

Kind of like Luke Skywalker destroying the Death Star.

The offense miss st was running is stylistically different than what arkansas and ole miss do. And the whole “better players” thing.

Kelly lost the team and there are no player leaders to hold them together.

Miss State is much worse.

The bottom of the SEC west will include 3 if not 4 of the following.

Ms State
Arkansas
Ole Miss
LSU

MSU is not very good this year.
But in that particular game they were even worse.
Their QB was uncharacteristically bad that game. He was 5-10 yards off on a LOT of his throws. Many of which were to wide open receivers (had those throws been completed, it may have been a very different game).
