SVP on Death Valley

Every time I listen I get chills

The most special place in all of sports.
As I watch this national championship game I can't wait for next year and hopefully we can bring back that type of environment SVP is talking about in the link

Geaux Tigers! (Clemson too tonight)

That's the game that broke LSU's spirit. More so than 1/9/12.

We haven't been out athleted or out spirited, maybe outcoached

We will see with canada maybe our offense improves and aranda holds down the defense

And regardless, the atmosphere that night was incredible
I was in the student section about 10 rows up and I've never heard or seen tiger stadium like that (I've been going to every game since 1993) it was awesome

Nah, LSU's spirit was broken the moment Jeff Woody ran into the endzone and gave Iowa State a 2OT victory over Oklahoma State on 11/18/11. At that moment the LSU faithful knew a rematch was inevitable. And everyone knows the loser of the first match always has every advantage in the rematch (See: Florida/FSU, 1996).

Agreed. Everyone acts like 1/9 was the beginning of the end for LSU football. But really is was that bama game. We win that and we probably win it all in 2012 and nobody gives a shite about 1/9 anymore. What a shame

Wrong. The turning point was 1/9/12. That's where Saban broke Miles. Miles playing scared in 2012 ultimately caused the loss and the feeling of inevitability that the gumps would always find a way to come back and win.

We've been living under that cloud since then.

And Saban was in the position to break Miles thanks to the upset that nobody outside of Ames, Tuscaloosa, and Bristol wanted to happen.

Iowa State broke our spirit. It's in my signature. It's the worst moment of my LSU fandom.
