If Les stays, what difference does him leaving now or in 3 years make? If we are going to suck when Leslie leaves, wouldn't it make sense to start rebuilding early? Or should we just wait until LF7 goes pro without a Championship or Heisman and we have a nother freshman QB ready to take the helm. I'm sure the new coach will excell with them.

Dear negatigers,

Can you guarantee a more successful run than the one Les has had?

Are you assuming we win the national championship next year with a new head coach?

No one is shelling out money for this to happen (not in an ideal sense anyway). This word should NOT be in the vocabulary if TAF is going to shell out this kind of dough and replace Les with someone "better".

I can't believe Miles is ruining getting the Heisman for Fournette, look at all those other LSU players that have won it over the years.

Oh wait..

I consider myself what you call a sunshine pumper. Les needs to recognize that his offensive philosophy is outdated and has not progressed with the times. In 2007 when he let Crowton run the offense, national championship. 2008 and beyond, there has been a lot of games won, but a lot of disasters. Since 2011, there has been a major step back, I am not sure he can pull it back.

Well it's too late now, LSU has to move forward. You cant have people worried about their job and keep recruiting when people know you arent coming back next season. LSU created this, they just need to move on and hire the best available and hope it doesnt set this program back 5-7 years.

So we'll just ride Les into the ground, let recruiting drip, then let someone else take the helm much like Charlie Strong and Mack at Texas.
In other words expect a 5-7 season in 2020

Given that LF7 has the talent to go pro next year, tell me which coach who will be installing a new offense will be able to win a NC in his first year?

I see this argument a lot. Will our next coach be as successful as Les has over 11 years? Probably not

If Les were to stay for another 11 years, would his record be better than his first 11 years? Probably not

There are no guarantees in these situations. However, if the powers that be feel they have a home run hire lined up (I guess we'll have to trust them) I think it's time to take that chance. Things have grown stale in tigerland.

I think it's time for Les to go.

But your thread title needs to be more specific. There are two kinds of pumpers - the ultra positive people who are known as sunshine pumpers. And the utra negative people who are known as shite pumpers.

This is what every fan base thinks. Odds are you'll get a Charlie Strong / Charlie Weiss.
