Thanks for the nice post. At least Okla isn’t Nebraska. Comfort in that, I know.

I’m a die hard OU fan, but also an avid college football fan, and history of the game. And you’re right about how a lot of OU fans will bring up their history to fans of teams that are making current championship history, while the Sooners can’t seem to finish making more history of their own. I think it’s fine bringing up OU’s history to fans of teams that are lacking relevance. But to do the same to Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Florida fans doesn’t make much sense. It’s rather cringey, for the fact that…

Oklahoma is 0-5 vs. SEC in BCSNCG/CFP matchups.

There are a lot of irrational OU fans. There are a few of us sane ones. I don’t expect to make an immediate dominating run when starting in the SEC. I’m just glad to be there and it’ll be nice to adapt to a winning culture. And just maybe OU can NUT UP and start winning big games like SEC teams have been doing for years. As long as OU doesn’t become dormant like Aggy and Smokey, all is good.

In the end, OU should study how LSU does it. Saban, Miles, Orgeron, and now Kelly. LSU just wins. They overcome adversity and in the end, Kelly is a dancing Western Division Champion!

Thanks thoughtful post but regarding the CFP comment I doubt that regardless of how good the next two weeks play out for us my 91 year old “gut” feeling is the committee will baulk at placing for the first time a team with two losses in the country’s top 4, even a would be well deserving LSU.

Well sooner or later a 2 loss conference champ will get in (unless they expand the field like FAST). But in 1960 a 2:loss Minnesota team won it all (even if they voted before bowl games back then so really a 1 loss team when vote went down) and of course the only 2 loss team to get in the BCS Championship Game (yes we did win) so it has and will again. Why not this year? With all the SEC talk if LSU beats UGA there is no way we don’t get invited to the dance. So sit back and enjoy the ride. So far it’s been awesome!!!!!!

Bro they were national champs that year? Last time I checked we have a 2003 BCS National Championship trophy in our case. You know the one where LSU vs OU game winner take all. Not sure what they won?

Nah just it was funny that lots of people thought we were getting Lincoln as coach and in actuality Woody never even pursued him. I think he spoke to his agent once like he spoke to Jimbo personally once. His man was BK because BK SHOWED INTEREST. Enjoy Linc and I hope he doesn’t go the way of Tom (what’s his name) that we almost hired. Thank god he used us for a sweeter Texas deal.
