Said surprised to see when the offense comes out in the I and lot's of drop backs and play action going on.

How do you feel about the possibility of a more true Air Coryell?

Personal Input.

I've said many times. A spread isn't the end all be all offense. Now, I think we see lot's more spread looks and sets and maybe even a game or two where we run more spread than not. But we are a 2TE Power offense. Perfecting the passing scheme is the key to success.

Also, I think Craig was brought in to help with some spread concepts also and I think he'll be in the box considering an offensive mind like him with eyes in the sky will help with cam on the sidelines talking to the Qbs and players.

You think with LF and Guice, that they won't get a lot of reps? No matter how much we practice throwing, they will get reps. The passing reps are needed, badly.

The offense does not need a complete overhaul. You still have the best player in the country and a great backup at runningback. They just need to be better at play design and play calling. I am a fan of more formations and motions with still a power running game mindset. I hate to say this but Bama's offense with LSU's personnel would be just as effective if not more than them. It is the same philosophy with better play design.

Yea it does suck, but I think it's the absolute truth. Our personnel > bama's last year.

Plug our offensive players into their scheme and holy shite.

It's not how many times we throw the ball, it's where those passes are going. 5 step drop and 40 yard passes down the field does no good. Harris needs to be able to get his confidence going and then take a few shots down the field.

If we can just have a passing game where we can throw it over the middle for 15 yards at a time and do that effectively, I will be very pleased. Add that to the down field passing and the running game and things will be much better.

Throw to the Tight End some.
Throw slants to WRs.
Go over the middle.
Play action.
Run the option.
Pass it to our RBs.
Vary things up by spreading the ball around.

This is not that difficult. Every college in the country does it. Why can't we? Why is it revolutionary that we are now "passing" the football? Ridiculous. This is just basic offense.

I just want an average offense when it comes to the passing game so that against physical teams we are not one dimensional. I do not care about running for 500 yards against Ball St. while we pass for 120 and go 10-21. Who cares? We know how that will end up as we hit a brick wall against Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, etc. And, we go 8-4 or 9-3 forever.

Yes. A decent passing game. Let's finally work on that.

We've still got to be more diverse--spread (the word that gets misconstrued so much) the defense out to create mismatches and advantages

Orrrrr just keep letting the D congest that box and funnel everything thru the middle

Our personnel > bama's last year
huh

they were equal at RB, light years better at QB, equal at WR and toward end of year a good bit better on the OL.

I don't think that you can just say that because our players SHOULD be better than they perform that they are better than they perform.

Imagine that... practicing hard in our biggest area of weakness.

...I wouldn't read too much into this as far as our game plan is concerned.
