He brought that pass-rushing ability as an outside guy to LSU and used it on the interior, which is what scouts love. He has a chance to shoot up this list with a huge year.

Shouldn't surprise anyone. One of the few bright spots in the last few years of Chavis being here.

I'm sure glad he didn't end up at Ole Miss. Heard it was close down the stretch.

Valentine would start at NT. He's the ideal NT for the defense with the ability to penetrate still at his size.

Godchaux would go back out to DE. LaCouture probably comes off the bench. Neal and Godchaux would be the starting ends. In pass rush situations (3rd/longs) and we're in a 2-4-5 nickel look I'd go Neal & Godchaux as the linemen. LaCouture, Gilmore, Valentine would play more 1st/2nd downs.

Nobody eats their own like the rant. A two year starter, and now we're benching him for a guy we've never seen play.

How do you know Valentine would automatically be the starter at NT? The coaches really like godchaux's quickness coming out of spring in one on one situations against centers. They would both play significant snaps, but benching lacouture for no reason is just dumb.

Valentine won't be the starter even if he makes it back on the team.

Optimally I think that would be the front 3 also. IF Valentine can start, sliding Godchaux back outside is where he will excel. Hope I'm wrong, but as good as D.G. is, having two guys (C & G) who will both outweigh him, pushing/leaning on him all game is going to wear him down. His quickness will help, but still they are asking a lot of him to play NG.
