Dang, LSU is 2nd in the SEC in offensive yards per play.

That kind of takes me by surprise.

Of course, playing Grambling likely helped that. On the other hand, most or all of the SEC teams have played at least one cupcake, and at least LSU has played one legit team.

Fan Sided article

It's kind of an obscure stat, but with so many entities needing to find things to discuss, I guess you'll see everything over time.

Must be our dominating running game driving it.

There's cupcakes and then there's SWAC teams.

SWAC teams are bottom of the barrel in the FCS.

Winning a 72-10 game would trigger that stat.

Wow, playing Grambling really did wonders for us. If we could just bypass playing hard out of conference teams and skip SEC play we’d be great!

There’s also FSU who might just be pretty good this year where as most other SEC teams have faced cupcakes both weeks or at most a cupcake and a very “meh” team. Other than LSU and Bama, what SEC team has faced a serious opponent?

It's not the yards, it is when they are earned. Games are won in third down and in the red zone.

Technically you could win without ever being in either situation and Hanes are won by outscoring your opponent. How you score is irrelevant.
