The SEC led all leagues with 13 teams on our list, including four in the top 10 and eight in the top 20. The ACC was next with 11 teams in the Top 100, followed by the Pac-12 (10), Big Ten (nine) and Big 12 (eight). In all, 24 conferences placed at least one team on the Top 100.
The state with the most teams in our Top 100 is California (14), followed by Texas and Florida (nine apiece). The table below shows the entire Top 100 and is sortable by conference and state.
SEC is no longer a football conference, clearly dominating baseball. 5 Programs in the top 100, considering the size of our state is very impressive.

1. Florida
2. Vandy
3. LSU

26. UL-Lafayette
55. Southeastern
60. Tulane
91. La Tech

GREAT to see for the state of LA. Honestly, a little surprised to see Vandy ahead of us. UF, got it.

I think it's a toss-up between LSU and Vandy honestly.

D1 baseball put out their first draft prospect list today. Hess and Watson were the only current players in the top 100. Both will be draft eligible as sophomores next season.

Recruits listed include Brice Turang (would be a miracle if he gets to campus), Elijah Cabell, and Jaden Hill.

ETA: Vanderbilt has 8 commits in the top 100.

Vanderbilt isn't a better baseball program than LSU. Not even close.

LSU has actually probably done more with less talent than both Vandy and Fla over the last 5 years or so

Vandy since they are a private school can give unlimited scholarships. They can have a team of 35 players on full ride while other teams in the conference can't. LSU gets some help with TOPS. Ole Miss, State, Bama and AU don't have anything like TOPS.

Talking about programs today, no one gets better recruits than UF and Vandy on a consistent basis especially pitching.

It's true. Vandy has the edge over anyone in recruiting now a days with the way they can hand out scholarships.

SEC baseball was more dominant than SEC football even when football was dominating. The numbers speak for themselves.

In the last 10 years, they probably are. Vandy has become the new Stanford. Vandy has the academic prestige and ability to offer financial aid that equates to a full ride for their entire team that LSU just doesn't have. If you look at the players they're able to sign and keep and players they have drafted every year, it's pretty clear how good their program is. They also won a national title a few years ago.

This doesn't necessitate a whole new thread, but I've been researching stuff on next year's opponents. I'm still researching Notre Dame right now.

I looked at the box scores from 2016. We have 4 position players still on the team from those two games. Notre Dame has 3. The seven players combined to go:

3-43 (.069 BA) 7 BB (.200 OBP), no XBH. 3 runs, 3 RBIs, and 3 strikeouts.

It was a shitty weather day, but damn Russian sat through all of that shitty play too.
