Also, that is a look in the 4-3. I wonder if T-Rex stays on the outside when we play the nickel? Maybe he is the starting corner in the 4-3, but slides inside when we play two linebackers?

For the love of frick NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! If Hatcher is a starter next year over Loston and Taylor....

And I get that this was more than likely shot when Taylor was hurt rantards.

our best safety combo is reid and loston, imo

taylor would be a good freelance guy in nickle and hatcher would be good in short yardage and goal line

I don't think you have to worry about him starting over Taylor. First, Taylor is at SS and second even if they were at the same position there is 0% chance that would happen. Reid, Loston, and Hatcher will all battle it out, and I'm confident that Reid or Loston will beat him out

I think the issue may be Loston fully grasping the scheme...seems to have been the issue up to this point

as far as Taylor is concerned, this may just be a spring depth chart and they're not sure how ready he'll be...but I would think Reid is close to a lock

as far as nickel goes, I think they'll do a lot of switching up with Simon, Brooks and TM to add confusion, this gives the Chief a multitude of options

Why is there a red dot by Loston's name? Maybe he was banged up at the time.

Montgomery has a red dot too...does anyone know if the other players with red dots had injuries recently?

taylor still just makes too many damn mistakes, he counters every big play with a frick up

i say just let him play in the mathieu role a bit

It's just simply not going to happen. If he's healthy he will start. I thought he made some bad plays early in the year but was pretty solid after that

i know he'll probably start

another problem is his size compared to the style he plays. he loves to fly around and get in on run support, and thats great and all, but he isnt very big and his body has broken down the 2nd half of the season the last 2 seasons now

no offense, but just as a datapoint for on-going research, are you saying this because you think he's the best option, or because of some goofy Miles policy that puts players on the field for the wrong reasons?

I don't think Miles has anything to do with who starts/plays on defense. I think Taylor is one of the SR leaders on the defense next year, a 2 year starter who has not played poorly imo. As far as best option, I'm not completely sold on him as the hands down best option, but I wouldn't say he's not the best option if that makes any sense

I would also agree that this was the most recent chart used with all of the guys leaving taken off or the chart for spring with Taylor's situation unknown. I would assume the only lock at safety is Brandon Taylor. He's a 2-year starter, and Chavis' quarterback of the secondary from what I've read. Just because he isn't as flashy as Reid or lacks the hype of Loston doesn't mean he isn't good. Brandon Taylor will start at safety if healthy

Brandon Taylor is a good safety and will start next year if he comes back 100% from his injury. LSU's defense saw a drop off at that position after he got injured.

Eric Berry played at 5'11 200 when he was a senior. Taylor is not too small for safety.

Ahmad Black is 5'9 190.
Janzen Jackson is 6'0 190
Quinten Carter 6'1 193
