Game 3 of the 2023 College World Series is set for Monday night. LSU and Florida are playing for it all this evening.
The big question for LSU: will potential No. 1 overall MLB Draft pick Paul Skenes take the ball?
Skenes, who is coming off a 120-pitch outing on Thursday night, would be going on three days rest. Many expect him to pitch at some point on Monday evening, though it's unclear what LSU's plans are, specifically.
Former Red Sox postseason hero Curt Schilling has a NSFW message for Skenes ahead of Game 3.
"Curt, what are your thoughts on Paul Skenes throwing tomorrow for LSU on 3 days rest after throwing 120 pitches last thursday? I think he's a kid and injuries are going to happen one way or another. Go out there with your teammates and win a Championship," a fan asked.
"3 days rest? At what, 20? 21? Take the f--king ball," Schilling responded.
Game 3 of the College World Series is set for 7 p.m. E.T. on Monday night.
The game will air on ESPN.

100 percent take the ball and pitch the frick out of it
There is no tomorrow if he can’t handle the pressure and the risk of a big game maybe he should go sell insurance

That’s not the issue here, dummy

this entire issue is so overblown.
Skenes arm isn't going to be destroyed pitching on 3 days rest. Worst case is that he won't be quite as effective, but he'll probably be very good regardless.
Take the hill and throw. If he doesn't have his best stuff, Jay can make a move.
But I think Skenes will be just fine.

I think a lot of folks, myself included, aren’t quite sure what “throwing on less rest than normal” entails. If there’s risk of injury, that’s one thing. If he just may seem a little tired and off, that’s another.
If he’s just not as effective as usual, he’s still the best option anyway.
