Exactly..race will be the only reason
How about a perfect comparision- Rich Brooks at Kentucky.
Kentucky went on probation, and actually had sanctions worse than State. Brooks won in his 4th season, as did Croom. However, Brooks really did turn the program around with 2 straight bowl games and is 4-0 this season. State is 1-4 with a loss to LaTech.
Croom states over and over again he controls the offense. Yet, we were two interception returns and a punt return away from going 4-8 last year.
The writing is on the wall and obvious to everyone, including Ray Charles

Even the announcers were wondering why they didn't try to get something before the end of the half.
