Had the Cowboys picked up the option, Claiborne would have been due $11.08 million in 2015. Instead, Claiborne is set to make $2.607 million in the final year of a contract worth $16.264 million and become a free agent after the 2015 season.

No real surprise here, but I personally think that if he gets hurt or just sucks again that he'll probably be out of the league by this time next year.

His talent/ pedigree will give him another shot past this year no matter what he does this season

I hope he can stay healthy. I'd be interested to see what he could do in a different system. Not sure Dallas utilized him so that he could reach full potential.

As a Cowboys fan, I agree with this. Let the kid play some man.

Of course they didn't. He's been average at best in coverage and terrible at stopping the run. Even when healthy

Dude is way too talented to not get another shot...assuming he fully recovers.

I'm saying let him play some man-on-man coverage. With Kiffin and Marinelli it's been mostly cover 2

One of the more disappointing Tiger busts in recent memory.

Needs to go to a team that plays more man than zone. He can stick like glue to anyone in man.

This.

The Cowboys picked a pure man cover guy who was never very good against the run, even in college, and tried to plug him into a cover two scheme. He was never going to succeed there.

He didn't show that ability, but he was just a rookie

Mo flat out dominated in man coverage at LSU. I don't blame Jerry for thinking he would work out in Monte's scheme. I remember not even worrying about his man making a play when Mo was on the field.

Mo deserved every award he won at LSU, just like PP7 before him and Mathieu after him.

just hasn't translated (not yet, anyway) to NFL.

Hope he gets a second chance in a system where he can shine.

a torn patella tendon is no joke. especially for a guy that is very dependent on his speed.

Not a surprise at all, hopefully Mo starts balling because his window will start closing in a couple of years unless he performs well. Great Tiger regardless!

He needs to be in a rob Ryan press man coverage, not Tampa 2 zone coverage. Zone coverage is the worst part of his game. I think he can still be a legitimate nickel cb if he has a better system.

Exactly. Someone will give him a chance in a new system.

I think he'll have a good year simply because cyber cowboys will be stronger on D. Hopefully that lets them mix in more man coverages.

If he has a solid year and they make a deep playoff run before Romo chokes, he'll get a solid payday.

Also, fire that agent that let them backload that figure on an option year! Dude could be coming off a great year and I don't see why they would exercise that option. Not with there zone philosophy.
