Wade must have got shot down on this idea? We have new leadership. Maybe make another attempt. It would really just for fun and to raise crowd support.

After the success of the Field of Dreams game last year anything should be possible. It just needs a sponsor and an opponent willing to do it (dress up in retro uniforms, etc)

This has been considered in the past. I remember Alleva saying that the building is way substandard and it would take millions to bring it up to code to host a sporting event, not to mention the cost of putting on said sporting event.

Use it while demolishing and rebuilding the new pmac if we cannot find a new lot for it.

This would be awesome, spend some money upgrading the cow palace and then completely tear down the PMAC and put a new one in that spot.

The building is in awful shape and doesn't even have heating or a/c, or adequate bathrooms, etc. for a crowd of any real size. This is not a real possibility anymore.

Why do this when you have the River center? Probably a lot cheaper than renovating a building just to use it temporarily. I vote just year the thing down and build a new arena there.

I don't believe this is an option anymore. Based on the whole LSU survey it seems like they are considering a renovation & building some new structure connecting PMAC/Tiger Stadium.

Yes, yes, let’s have basketball games during winter where the crowd will have to huddle together for warmth. Herd immunity shall prevail against Superstealth Flurona 9000

I use to love the idea of having one game a year in the Cow Palace. Have a Louisiana opponent and use retro unis. Thought it would be awesome.

Until I went in there this past year. The place is in absolute shambles. No ac/heat to speak of, stagnant air, ceiling falling apart, seats are in shite shape, no scoreboard, PA system completely obsolete if even working, I could go on.

Just to put a floor in the place, make it comfortable to sit through a game, and scoreboard / PA you are looking at way more money spent than a game would bring in. That isn't to even speak to concessions and logistics of entry / exit and parking. Not to mention the lost of ticket sales. (6,750 seats compared to 13,200 seats in the PMAC)

The thought is awesome and would be a fun idea, but the money is so much better spent elsewhere for improvements and game day experience.

. No. It needs to be on basketballs version of the national register of historic places. It is sacred ground.

... in the meantime, Alabama approved new $183 million basketball arena with 10,400-seat facility (2,200 seats reserved for students) to be located on the NE part of campus.

I attended many BB games in the Cow Palace - pre-Pistol and during his time. Loved the atmosphere there.

Spent a lot of time in the Cow Palace when I was a student worker for the AgCenter. Would take a significant investment to get that place upgraded to play a game in there.

That said, it's a beautiful building considering the era it was built in.

People complain about the PMAC but the Cow Palace is way worse. And it’s a dumb idea to play a game there.

LSU basketball games in the River Center would be a traffic nightmare that makes that congested debacle after every football game in PIMger Stadium pale in comparison.

There's absolutely no need to demolish the PMAC. Too much history there.

Just gut the interior, redo the seating and put a new facade on the exterior. (Never been a fan of the White and Black exterior)

Can the interior renovation be done in a one year time period? (Exterior work can continue while games are being played)

Games will have to be played somewhere. Traffic hell for one or 2 seaons at River Center or Cow Palace minimal renovation? Take you pick!

It would take a lot more than minimal renovation there
