would like to see him go though a similar comeback story. Make that commitment to get
his career re-started.
all he needs is a top notch trainer, QB mechanics coach and a "Horse Wisperer" type of lifestyle coach to get right in the head...or is it his heart?
anyway that would be quite a story

Been there done that..........several times over. People have gone above and beyond to try and stoke those embers and turn his potential into a reality. Each and every time they end up feeling like their efforts were wasted. When your "life coach" gives up on you, maybe it's time to place your focus on something other than football.
BTW, I have nothing personal against JR. He was a great LSU QB. Not all great college players are destined to make it in the pros. Nothing can take away from what he has accomplished as a Tiger.

He played at LSU at a time when the goal was winning the SEC and national titles, and he played on teams talented enough to do it. They won neither.
He did amass stats. Maybe that's what you mean by accomplished.

if you read that SI article on him you would see that both of them say this is completely false.

JR had more GOD GIVEN talent than Flynn and Mauck combined.

I don't blame JR for not winning a championship that year. As you pointed out, he put up some of the best stats at that position in all of college football. We had an 11 win season and BCS bowl victory. His contribution to that is a darn good accomplishment in my book, but that's just my opinion.

I don't remember it exactly, but I saw JR's denial and the coach saying something to the affect that it was a mutual parting. I don't think, nor would I expect, the coach to rub salt in the guys wounds in a national publication. He was playing nice which is understandable. However, he did end his comments by saying something like "I hope he gets his act together".

Jamarcus blew it, he is a codine addict. He will never play Pro Football again. It is his own personal tradegy.
