The National Championship Game is in New Orleans this year right? If such is the case, it really doesn't matter if we are #1 or #4, we just need to kick whoever's arse is in the way so that we can make it to our "Home Game" In New Orleans on January 13.

well the difference is in if we are #1 or #2 having to play #3 vs #4 in order to get to the game.

I would rather play Oregon/Utah in the semis to set the stage for "The Big One" in Nola. Hopefully Joe gets his shot @tOSU in front of some rowdy arse cajuns in the dome.

Don't you think it'd be more beneficial to play #4 Oregon/Utah/OU in Atlanta instead of #3 Clemson in Phoenix?

It sure didn't look like a home game on 1/9/12. Unfortunately I witnessed that in person. At least half were Bammers.

It absolutely matters.

I think most LSU fans would rather play Oregon or Utah in Atlanta rather than Clemson in Phoenix.

Wasn't it a "home game" in 2011?

The top 3 are far and away better than #s 4+.

It's the difference between two games in a row against undefeated Clemson#3 and then undefeated Ohio State#1 vs Oregon who lost to Auburn on a neutral site or Oklahoma who couldn't stop K-state or Baylor for much of the game. LSU would hang 50+ on Oklahoma and Jalen is limited as a passer. Oregon is likely a little better on defense, but their offense is limited against a fast/physical defense!

Oregon/Oklahoma aren't in the same stratosphere as Clemson/Ohio State.

Also will decide if the first playoff game is in Atlanta or Phoenix.

The number 1 ranked playoff team has never won the championship game.

I think 2020 is a great year to end the "streak."

Which is a pretty meaningless tidbit of information statistically speaking.
