Does he end up moving to OLB? I noticed he is 6'2 221 That is a big dude playing safety right there.

I expect him to add quality depth to the LB corps.

Corey is a pretty good 4th safety. I was surprised when Voorhies moved from safety and not Thompson. I guess we have to trust the coaches on this one but he is certainly big enough for a LB.

edit to say CTs injury might be a factor in the decision.

Thanks Les

Yeah Landry was around 205. Chad may have been one of our biggest safeties ever.

And was one of the most elite "athletes" to ever play sports at LSU.

Not everyone can move like he did at that weight.

he was like 206-207 and actually gained weight for the combined. Weighed in at 213

Steele said he could contribute at LB if we need him there.

Heard Matt's interview with him on AFR yesterday. He said he'd be willing to do whatever he's asked to help the team. But also sounded like he expects to play safety. He's still going to get a lot of minutes as our 3rd or 4th guy.

I think it was more of an age thing. Voorhies, even being undersized, will still be around next year and will know the playbook.

^ this

We are ok at linebacker this year. Moving forward is the issue, and moving Voorhies helps for the future. If we needed a linebacker 3 weeks from now I'd move Thompson
