I like it but I would flip Coomes and Pap.

I don't know... I like the idea of protecting Pap with Beau. And Beau is then protected by the top of the order.

Not giving up a ton of defense. Slaughter is great but Nick's no slouch.

not saying that at all... just think Slaughter's a better glove at 1st

but you need Coomes bat right now... but more importantly... his patience at the plate

Slaughter has struck out 23 more times than Coomes in 16 more ABs on the season... while Coomes has drawn 9 more walks than Slaughter

Would have thrown him in the DH spot.

Patience

This is the most important part. We need to work Florida pitchers' counts.

Besides the walks, the most frustrating part of last night for me was Dups swinging at a 2-0 pitch when Singer was tiring.

not risking losing the DH should an injury happen at 1B

ETA: would you like to see Poche have to bat in the 6th or 7th inning of the 1 run game with 2 outs and RISP? or a pinch hitter automatically spelling the end of Poche's day in the middle of a shut out?

Great stats....

I love Slaughters glove but I also like Coomes' bat. I think the difference in their defense is less than the difference in their offense.

I go with offense tonight bc Poche is contact pitcher and might need some run support.

Remember that laser Coomes threw to 3rd on that DP? He's no slouch on defense.

Tomorrow probably switch back to Slaughter w Lange on the mound.

Pap should be hitting behind Deichman. These elite teams will not show him anything to hit unless he has some protection.

He's got three homeruns off of the elite teams. Most teams don't walk Pap because you're risking putting runners on for the top of the lineup.

Is this really how it works?

I don't know the rules for this type of switch but hypothetically if coomes were DH and slaughter got hurt at first, could coomes not move to first and Romero to DH but take slaughter's spot in the order and it have no impact on our pitcher?
