Well it sure as hell isn't working. Maybe we should go back? Should we not?

LSU passed more times than ran in the game.

Execution was better last year. Makes the offense look like it was called differently.

Do you guys think our conservative offense so far has something to do with the fact that we lost Mettenberger, Hill, Landry, and Beckham? The coaches probably felt comfortable last year opening it up because of those guys, and can you blame them? SO what do you guys think?

Good point; however, that still doesn't justify 4 runs (up the middle) from the three yard line. TD there makes a 7-7 game. Totally different scenario.
Miles' ego gets in the way again. This may have broken our will.

You do realize that you can be conservative without running between the tackles every play out of a 2 TE I formation. Go back and watch the second half against Wisconsin, we were successful because we spread the field.

I have no problem with running the football. The problem I have is lsu gets in 2 tight and runs: zone belly, zone boss, and play action. They get in te/h set and run power pitch to it and zone boss away. They will run one or two other plays but only on rare occasions. If lsu wants to be a zone/power team that is fine, plenty of big ten schools do it (as did Stanford w/harbaugh), but why not mix in more formations to manipulate the defense into more favorable looks. A counter play of some kind would be a welcome addition too.

Of course this is why they are going conservative. Problem is, we will lose more games if we stick to this bs O, instead trusting these young guys. Time to start building for the future
