We dont retire many and I like that but I would support retiring #3. Anybody remember the Houston game?

One of my all time favorite Tigers.

Another Great TD run by Faulk against Bama. Watch him run over Dixon and then bulldoze someone else into the endzone.

Greatest running back in LSU history. Stats are untouchable!
Yea, he put the entire team on his back and got it done.

Yea Faulk didnt do much in that '97 Florida game though. That was mostly Herb Tyler and the defense. But yes it was unbelievable, still have the grass (well dirt now) I got when we rushed the field.

They are either too young or just ignorant. I pay no mind to those idiots.
Anyone who watched him play or at least has done their homework knows the truth.
Hill is great and would be nice if he returned, but he still wouldn't touch Faulks stats or status amongst LSU greats.
Dude's number needs to be retired, it belongs up in Tiger Stadium.

Only HW, BJ, and ES (and maybe DM) were better SEC backs in college IMHO...

congrats to Kevin Faulk, this award is truly deserved. he was key in turning around an LSU program that had 6 straight losing seasons prior. he outran people, ran over people, made great cuts, caught passes, returned kicks... a great LSU Tiger all around.
Still remember this run in Tuscaloosa in '97. Exclamation point to Alabama's last shutout LINK

Nailed it.
The debt of gratitude Tiger fans owe Kevin Faulk can hardly be overstated. Coming out of HS he could have gone anywhere. He chose us (as Lou noted following 6 straight losing seasons). Likewise, he elected to stay his Sr season. I can't quote it but during his speech he said something along the lines of 'LSU made a commitment to me. I need to honor my commitment to them.' Had Faulk not chosen to come here, Saban wouldn't have wanted to come here.
IMO, the most complete player we've ever had, ever.

This and he actually got his degree in 3 years, if I remember correctly. He was a great Tiger.
Kevin was a QB at Carencro High and lead them to a state championship when no teams from the Acadiana area had ever won a state championship in the highest division (don't remember if it was 5A then or still 4A that was the top). Ironically, they won the Championship game on Wade Ritchey's leg.
I do think Collins was a better pure runner, but Faulk's all around skills are unmatched, closest other guy would be Dalton Hilliard.
