For being #1 on 247Sports’ Biggest Bust list for the ’22 Transfer Portal. Since leaving LSU for Bama, his accomplishments include getting arrested, being abused and losing to his former team, going undrafted, and probably not making the Eagles’ roster. The grass isn’t greener in Gumpland.
quote:

Ricks is the only five-star transfer on this list. Although the former five-star recruit in the 2020 class struggled at LSU during the 2021 season, the thought was that Saban and company could bring out the stud that impressed everyone back in 2020, when Ricks posted four interceptions as one of the nation's top true freshmen. In the end, Ricks went undrafted and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Ricks looked like a clear future first-round pick back in 2020 as well as in high school.

Then again you love to see it!
Now I only say this because I can only imagine the trash he talked about LSU the first few months he was in transition to Gumpville

It's almost like Ricks' ahtletic ability disappeared. He looked awesome his freshman season with all the plays he made. You would have thought even with his crappy decision-making skills and bad work ethic that his talent would have still allowed him to shine on the field some whenever he had some chances. Apparently not.

I don't think I laughed harder than when BTJ blocked him clean off the field in OT.

I absolutely hated Ricks going to Bama, but that’s a decision that works out 99% of the time so I get it. Max Johnson going to the dumpster fire that is Texas A&M though (just because his brother got paid), is something else.

And then finished him on the sidelines. My favorite play of the year.

Every single person on a football scholarship in the SEC has talent. With crappy decision making and bad work ethic you will quickly fall behind the pack and get left behind. Just athleticism stops carrying you once you get past high school

Attitude matters. Even the most athletic 21 year old is going to crash and burn if he can’t take being coached.

The most brilliant business mind will struggle if he can’t work with others.

Attitude matters in everything.
