our hitting was phenominal this series! good defense and base running too (cutting Robinson some slack on his frick up to first base )

i'm not going to lie; i'm nervous about the Florida series due to our pitching. at 17-10 winning one hopefully will get us to host a regional. If Lange and Poche' regain their form, this team could be a contender, imo.

but that's next week. for now I plan on celebrating this sweep. already I have a head start on the Irish.

I had forecasted the Tigers to go 15-15 in the SEC. They proved me wrong. With 17 SEC wins and with three more to play, i have to tip my cap to coach Mainieri and the boys. The team is playing much better. I believe that the Tigers will take 2/3 games against the Gators. 19 SEC wins will be quite the accomplishment for a rebuilding year !

A personal tradition I started several years back is celebrating a tiger sweep with a grilled T-bone.
I just took my "sweep steak' out of the frig for the second week in a row.

I want to tip my hat to Deichman. Early in the season he was a mistake machine. Lately he has solidified the infield. He is making great plays, making up for poor throws, and getting timely hits.
The coaching staff apparently knew what they were doing.

I'll elect not to tip my cap to him yet. He is pretty bad at the plate. His field has improved slightly. I wish we had a better option at the plate.

man, that's a tradition I may have to copy you on.

not a tradition but i'm smoking some st. Louis ribs and some sliced boston butt (basted with jack millers/oil) and some deer sausage. this is a 5 hour process that requires serious pacing discipline so I won't get to drunk to savor the meal. I do two fairly stiff jamesons and water, then switch to water with a splash for awhile, then rotate them until the time is up. the food lasts for two days; in other words, until the hangover goes away.
