OBJ

quote:

“Before we even came here, he was one of the main reasons I wanted to go here, just to play on the same side of the ball as him,” Beckham said of Landry. “It's kind of crazy to see it all happening. But we compete in everything we do whether playing Xbox, it doesn't matter, we're always competing against each other.”

quote:

Beckham, who had a career night against UAB with five catches for 136 yards and three touchdowns, has been thrilled with the trio he, Landry and Mettenberger have formed, calling it a "dream come true." Together they've combined for 23 receptions, 434 yards and six touchdowns through the air, already only one touchdown off last year's total.

quote:

"Zach is going to be a great quarterback," he said. "As the year develops, he's going to develop.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of it. It's a great start for him."

Landry
quote:

"It is so much fun to be in this offense this year," Landry said. "Last year at this time we were still struggling offensively. Looking back at it, it kind of makes you laugh because if you look at the same guys now, they are making plays. You see a quarterback that has grown leaps and bounds and emerging. You also see young offensive linemen coming along. I just can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store."

Mett

quote:

"Meeting [Cameron] got me really excited about the potential because I knew what talent we had," he said. "When he first told me about the X's and O's and everything, I got really excited because potentially this can be one of the best offenses LSU has had in recent years."

it's amazing what a team can do when they have a proven OC/QB mentor instilling an attitude of confidence and trust. when was the last time you heard LSU WRs gushing over their QB and actually mean it? how many top QB/WR prospects do you think are salivating thinking about what they could do with 3-4 years with a guy who not only has the resume of molding NFL QBs, but is validating that resume after only one offseason with Mett?

yes, it's only been 3 games, but if things continue this way, and we can keep Cam here, LSU might be WRU again, and may even approach QBU. this is the offense we've been begging for the last few years, so I fully intend on sitting back and enjoying it.

Not only with players, but having a competent offense helps with national perception too. You can already see it, the word is out that LSU can beat you on the offensive side of the ball. It's still early, but very exciting.

it's a cycle, people talk about you because you're good, then you build more confidence and play better because they're talking about you.

I love it

I'll still reserve judgement until we see how the next two games play out.

I'm not labeling them the GOAT, I'm saying they aren't just showing the potential for greatness. this year they are showing they have the preparation to execute greatness.

this is looking like a season of "what can/will this offense do" instead of "what could have been."

The SEC Rant is just wonderful right now. The amount of denial is incredible. They just can't accept the fact we have a good offense.

It's funny because the scores haven't been much different than years past, but the way we score is. It's oh so true that bitches love the long ball.

jumping out early and crushing teams is different than falling in the end zone in the 4th quarter when the other team is gassed.

we're getting TDs early instead of settling for FGs until we wear them down. we're converting on 3rd down. we're scoring through the air instead of just on the ground.

balance is the difference. it's much more than "chicks love the deep ball"

Mett and the 2 incredible receivers starting to remind me when Dan Marino was lighting it up with Mark Clayton and Mark Duper...

Balance is key. Metts moving the ball at will. I can't wait till we embarrass the a&m secondary.

This years recruiting class is very important. The talent is in state. We have to get them to Baton Rouge to carry on with this progress. If we just get the best of what this state has to offer, the Tigers will be in the national championship hunt every year.
