Unrealistic expectations will be had, myself included. May get interesting.

We need to add a few pieces.
I think we need a CFer
Put Duplantis in LF
Find a RFer
Catching needs to improve
First base needs to improve
Could use more pop at third
SS and 2B set
Now all of that won't happen, but hopefully through practice or new arrivals some of it will.

I noticed an unusual number of curves in the dirt this year. I had been waiting on a key one to get away and it did in the super. we had to block a hell of a lot of pitches. you may also mean throwing stealing runners out. coastal Carolina killed us but i'm not sure it was on the pitcher or the catcher.
we also need better defense from the pitcher position, esp when a certain starter pitches.

The Jordan's will be carrying quite a hitless streak into next season....

Damn. Reading your post makes it sound like we didn't win a game...

Too many curves in the dirt got away from our catchers. They need to do better. And yes teams stole on us even when pitching out.
Yes and it showed on bunt D. Our pitchers didn't help much.

You want to win in Omaha or just try to get there?
I noted everything wasn't realistic, but there is a lot of room for improvement. How much individuals improve and whether new guys help will tell the tale.

1. Swing at pitches in the strike zone
2. Protect the plate with two strikes
3. Hit behind the runners on base
4. Get the ball to the outfield with a runner on third

Any chance we get a half decent OOC with everyone coming back? Maybe a series out West or maybe something like we did with ND this year?

If Poche goes pro, I'm not sure they'll be that much better.
They were a national seed afterall

Didn't we lead the SEC in the least amount of strikeouts? Doesn't compute.

Exactly, changes from handy excuse to a huge expectation.

It sucks that I feel this way, but I'm not looking forward to next season as much. This season was SO MUCH FUN to follow because there were almost zero expectations. We could just enjoy the season with no pressure.
Next season will be 100% different. I know that's how it should be every year here and obviously I'm excited about our potential for next year. We just don't have years like this one very often where we can just sit back and enjoy the game without all the crazy expectations that every error we make is the end of the world.

Exactly, this team played their butts off to get that #8 seed. It's not like all PM had to do was fill out the lineup card and talent took over. Kids played like demons to get to balls, run bases, etc.
And that's why I fear people will automatically believe if we were a top 8 seed, we'll be a top 8 seed next year just because just about everyone is back.
It doesn't work that way.
We can't afford to lose the edge we had this year. These kids would not quit. They wouldn't accept that we were supposedly rebuilding and they could not succeed.
We have to believe we need to improve and there has to be competition or we won't make it to Omaha.
Ever

NC would be awesome, but I'll settle for 2-3 wins in Omaha.
I don't think that's unreasonable considering CPM just received a "substantial raise"
