Good God that is a poorly written article

There really wasn't much wrong mechanically. But it reads like a pup reporter is trying too hard to write visually.

That's pretty sad.

Really? There are almost 300 D1 college baseball teams. Do you think 2,500 people paying to see a game is good or bad for most of them?

Missouri is a MLB state. Most people are Cards fans. I imagine a lot have jumped on the Royals Bandwagon as well.

I enjoyed how close the seats were to the field and how small Taylor stadium was. Plus, I got to sit behind the LSU on deck circle for $5. Can't beat that.

Ditto above.

I was sitting right next to this guy (LSUChamp06). He's my son. Also in attendance was his son (my grandson).

It was a great time. We attended all three games. But Sunday was the best, we sat in Row 1 right behind the on deck circle for LSU, so close we could have touched the players thru the netting.

There are 295 college baseball teams.

Last year, only 28 schools averaged above 2559 per game. That is less than 10% of all schools. The 53rd place team in attendance last year averaged 1202, which is less than half of what Missouri had that day. So yeah, while our "best fans in college baseball" scoff and turn our noses up at such a paltry figure, 2559 at a college baseball game is way above the norm.

Yeah, I've been filling a spreadsheet with college baseball attendance numbers for shits and giggles and since 2009, only about 25 programs have consistently averages over 2500 people every year.

And people call me names when I tell them that women's college basketball is more popular nationally than college baseball.

The 50th place women's basketball attendance was 2538 last year. That is way above the 50th college baseball attendance.

I'm not trying to start a shite storm or a war...I just provide the facts.

Yeah, I'm trying to track the growth of the sport (college baseball) through various metrics. Attendance, TV ratings, performance based coaching turnover, AD investment. I think the sport is becoming more popular, but it's hard to measure.

The new ball makes it more entertaining through the super regionals. Then there's TD Ameritrade...

The fact that it is more readily available via TV, and streaming, is going to help in the growth of college baseball nationally.

Really wanted to make this series. Closest LSU will get to me this season. My son had a weekend tournament. Glad the LSU fans who attended represented the fan base well.

Boiled shrimp, beer and baseball. Great Combination.

We were there for the whole weekend-had a blast, but it made me very homesick.
