Pretty important that LSU beats Tulane and takes 2 of 3 from Ole Miss this weekend. Ole Miss has a top 5 rpi.

Our RPI looks pretty strong, especially with a relatively tough SOS coming up. Basically we need to finish with a 15-15 SEC record to lock up a regional 2 seed. 17 SEC wins puts us in the thick of hosting.

Important for both parties. Tulane is trying to keep hosting shot alive, and at the very least be a #2 seed and not be in a national seed regional. They need the RPI win badly. We are 7-3 against the Top 50, but with UNO at 44, and Houston at 67, this might be the only Top 50 RPI game left for Tulane on the reg. schedule.

LSU has a better shot at hosting, and is trying to keep their national seed dreams alive, but dropping another to Tulane will hurt that-- especially after going 2-2 last week. LSU is 7-9 against the Top 50 and only 9-10 against Top 100-- they need the RPI win too. Also, getting swept by Tulane might cause LSU fans to pop a blood vessel.

As an aside, Tulane v. LSU in a ranked v. ranked, meaningful game is how it should be. Bring it corndogs.

I will take it as well as the fact we are only 2 games back in the West, given our poor start and pitching inconsistencies.
