I don't think Corey is going anywhere but if he does i think Aaron Schwanz would step in as the outside linebackers coach.

Surtain was a consensus top 2-5 at his position and hands down one of the best corners in the country. Where do you come up with this pure bull shite from. Surtain will be one of the all time greats for Bama. Bitch please

I think it is that Raymond will soon be leaving LSU. LSU hired a 73 year old to coach Wr's a guy who had no job and paid him 25 grand more than Raymond who was supposedly your ace recruiter and one of the best DB coaches in the country.

This part makes no sense to me either.

What is up with the lack of simple English with Surtain. He's not from the hood. He is either dumb or his parents have neglected his upbringing and had only focused on getting to NFL. Black, white, red, whatever, the public schools has failed these athletes as well their parents. How hard is it to teach your son and daughters to speak a coherent dialogue. This isn't s race thing, it's a neglect of parenting and schooling.

One major injury at BAMA, he will be washing cars or coaching defense in HS struggling in a world that will forget all about his football potential .

Truth is sad.

I am more of an O supporter than a detractor, but I think this post has more than a few elements of truth as i heard these same comments from Mike Scarborough yesterday. If it were me in Raymond's place, I would have some similar questions. Why are you cutting my role in half? Why am I making less money than a new guy? Am I needed here anymore? Maybe I need to get my resume together because I don't hear anyone telling me, and the public, how valuable I am to this team. I am beginning to have my doubts.
It is kind of staring us in the face isn't it? Either way, something in that situation has to give.

Maybe this was the year the negative recruiting regarding Raymond wasn't that.

If these are missteps and Saban used the same logic to convince Surtain the writing was on the wall regarding Raymond (who we all thought if Raymond stays, Surtain signs) then there is a huge frick up on Alleva and Orgeron's part (especially when there was no plan B).

Fat fingers are a byproduct of a lazy culture. One drop of the phone and you could be back on a desktop like a Neanderthal.

Everyone is wondering why Surtain who by all accounts was locked in to LSU for years suddenly flipped to the evil empire.

No we aren't. The kid said he wanted to win championships. Do you think he has a better chance at that with Saban or Zero?

I don't claim to know anything about any of this. My ideas when I started this thread came from a conversation with a friend yesterday. We were discussing the entire status of the program and how signing day went down. It started with how and why Surtain suddenly flipped when by all accounts he was locked in for a long time. What changed between his trip to the evil empire and signing day? The discussion then went to the staff. I was telling him that when I was looking at the pay structure that they released for the staff it just didn't make sense. How do you hire a unemployed 73 year old who was nothing but a consultant and won't be asked to recruit. Then pay him more than Raymond who is supposed to be one of the top DB coaches in the country and your ace recruiter? Something just doesn't add up. If I am Raymond I would be pissed and rightly so. The rest of the stuff was just logic and as another poster said fitting the puzzle pieces together.

I agree with you 100%. But wasn't this the same from the very day Orgeron was hired? In the time before he went to Alabama there was no indication he had anymore than a casual interest there.
