coaching contracts and buy outs ?

i dont understand why they don't have in these coaches contracts that if they are not doing what they are paid to do (win) the contract can be terminated at cause? i just relate it to the real world, if average joe signs a contract and isn't cutting the mustard he's cut loose.

seems to me that around college football, the contracts protect the employee (coach) WAY more than the business (school)

Typically, the assistant coaches in college work on 1 year contracts. That gives the head coach the ability to make adjustments if he isn't satisfied with an assistant's performance.
Whats interesting about LSU, is that they hired away Dave Aranda (which admittedly was a very good, albeit very expensive hire), they gave him a three year contract. Virtually unheard of in the assistant coaching world. It will be interesting to see how that is handled if Miles leaves.
