I must say, he has surpassed my expectations. The playing calling (for me anyway) has been fantastic. The run blocking is phenomenal and mett looks poised and in total control of the offense. He keeps it running steady, makes all his check downs, and is getting better at identifying defensive alignments.
Receivers block very well, run good routes (catch the ball ) and the running backs are outstanding. I know it's only n Texas and Washington, but our offense is a well oiled machine. Few penalties and good decisions.

Stud is not a dud. He is doing an impressive job. Krags too. I think this has the potential to be better then our 07 offense. Jmo. I think it took all of last year and summer/fall to completely gut crowtons offense.

I have to give him an A. I can't fault him on anything at this point.

i'll be honest. for a "pro style" offense, it leaves alot to be desired. no actual NFL screens. no draws. no bootlegs. no waggles. minimal misdirection. its like we refuse to use scheme on offense. plowing forward and busting everyone in the mustache works for 10 wins a year, but when you face someone with equal talent(BAMA!!), you struggle b/c of the simplicity.

McCarron got sacked multiple times against WKU. What was it, 6 times?

We have one or two sacks at the most.

This obsession with Bama is out of hand. Respect them but goodness.

Our offense has improved. There will always be things we want to see different. But we are winning. So with that being said.

i just dont understand why we dont use staples of the pro style system to help our offense. im glad were winning, but you cant always out talent people.

last year, 1/2 of bama's passing yards was sending everyone deep, and "checking it down" to richardson-- a glorified run with lots of space. we didnt do it one time all. season. long.

why do we refuse to let scheme help us on offense? we use scheme effectively on defense.

Agree. I would like to think we are saving that for teams that can put up a fight but i am not confident that that is the case.

There is no secret playbook. This is LSU's offense. Is it conservative and about as exciting as watching paint dry, you betcha, but it's what Miles is comfortable with and more often than not, it will be enough to win the game.

What worries me is I'm not convinced that we can come from behind with this offense if we need to.
Time will tell if Miles opens things up a bit, or if we stay with the current 70/30 run/pass ratio we've seen in the first 2 games.

We will learn a lot more about this team in 2 weeks when they go to Auburn.

AJ has been sacked 8 times so far, including 6 by WKU. Not all of that is on the OL. And yes, Mett got sacked twice by another directional school. But that was the first game. None to UW.

If we execute like we're supposed to we won't have to.

However if for some reason we get down by a couple scores I think Mett has the ability to make the plays to get us back but Les isn't going to run that offense unless he must.

I personally like our offense. I love smash mouth submission football. No better feeling than making the other side quit in the third quarter because they are just too damn beat to handle it anymore.

The adjustments from Week 1 to Week 2 were big IMO.

Less penalties and the OLine looked better pass blocking.

So far in the season it looks like we actually set up plays. In week 1 we ran a lot of the bubble screen. In week 2 Landry runs the bubble screen and Mett fires downfield to Wright.

Wright and Landry have been huge on run blocking.

Landry, Beckham, Boone, and Wright have been awesome in the passing game.

Our stable of Running Backs is 2nd to none in the country. Blue, Hilliard, Ware, and Ford are monsters. And Hill is supposed to be very good.

Mettenberger has looked very good delivering the ball.. Even Rivers looked good on drives against North Texas.

And last but not least.. My personal MVP of the offense so far.. JC Copeland. Paving the way for all these RBs and has been a monster carrying the ball.

Losing Faulk to injury and Washington to academics hurts depth at the OLine though. Never can have too much depth.

Copeland, Landry, and Wright have stepped up pretty big so far.
