When he took the job he said this was the most important lesson he learned from Ole Miss.

But when you hire and have terrible coordinators on both sides of the ball for two years in a row this philosophy completely fails.

I was most surprised/disappointed in pelini

Thought he’d do a good job.

No established coordinator would ever come work for an idiot like Orgeron who has history of interfering with them

So we are left with rejects and guys getting there first coordinator gig

Such a great strategy for a guy who was hired cheap to be able to buy the best coordinators out there

He doesn’t really seem like he’s consistently let his coordinators do their jobs at any point in his tenure. I guess he learned not to chase whores over doing your job at Ole Miss too?

It’s not “interference” as much as it is he’s a jackass and doesn’t know how to navigate through challenges. He’s reactionary and he demands “yes sir” from his coaches.

me too. He had some really good defenses here - to see him fail that spectacularly I don’t think anyone saw that coming. That doesn’t absolve O of any responsibility but as a casual college football fan I was surprised.

And then he was publicly interfering with Canada by like game 6-7 of his first season.

We knew this was BS back in 2017.

In 2005, Pelini was hired by LSU Tigers Head Coach Les Miles, again as defensive coordinator. His success continued, as LSU was ranked 3rd nationally in overall defense for each of his three years with the Tigers. At the conclusion of the 2007 regular season, the LSU Tigers defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 21–14 in the 2007 SEC Championship Game and went on to win 38–24 against the Ohio State Buckeyes, Pelini's alma mater, in the 2008 BCS National Championship Game.[6][7]

Good talk josh

Don't be surprised when both of our coordinators end up having some success in a few years. LSU was just to big of a program to come in and learn how to do their jobs, and its why I don't want a coach who hasn't been on that level before. The expectation at LSU is National Championship every year, not every few years, and most people aren't built for that.

From what I have been told he was back to micro management practices especially with the defense.

In all fairness Ensminger did OK. Some fans just enjoy bashing him. He should get appreciation for the improvements he made. Apparently, he was a big part of O’s success.

Preparation, communication, repetition...then get out of their way. Prepare your people for the game, and then let them do their jobs. YES!

Mail it in under guise of letting them do their jobs. NO!

Why??? He hadn’t done a thing since leaving LSU after 2007 and the game has evolved significantly since then.

Looks like you are another one of those fans who wants a name more than you want a coach.

Clearly he’s never been a coach that can scheme or game plan around the opponent. We do nothing to attack any team or any weaknesses as a defense.

At this point if I were Peetz I’d say F you and call my own game. It’s a good time for him to get the experience.
