O never thinks he'll lose a potential signee. Great for an assistant's mindset because it's someone else's job to worry about managing the players you have. Not so great when you're the HC and miss on a transfer, then have to go back to the guys you've just made an implicit negative comment about.
It's a risky move. Maybe it still pays off. A decision hasn't been made, but we're in the 12th round and down on points.
