"To be honest, it really wasn't my decision," Fournette told NFL Now Live. "My coach brought me into the office. He told me 'You have a lot on the line.' He didn't want me to play. I cried like a baby. It was hard for me. That was my first time not really traveling with the team and I couldn't play in a game with my brothers. I'm going to miss them."

Doesn't make sense. Just because he couldn't play, why couldn't he travel with the team and stand on the sidelines?

He did have a lot on the line. I wish he would have played. It did give Guice more hype going into the next season though.

His Twitter timeline shows him flashing the Rolex a few weeks before the bowl game. He needed to cut ties with LSU at that point.

Did Orgeron also make him sign with his agent, making it no possible to travel and be with his team on the sideline?

Maybe O did tell him he couldn't play, and I have no problem with it. I like a coach looking out for his players best interest in that situation.

Signing with an agent at that time was his decision

As the author of the article states, he seems to be changing the story. I am sure Fournette didn't say his ankle was 100 percent at the time.

Cover story that I don't think happened. If that is the case then Coach O better sit all of his top players in the future.

That being said, it doesn't matter at this point. Ancient history and time to move on. Getting excited about next season.

Leonard cant just sit or stand on a sideline. How many games should he have stayed out of during season to heal his ankle, but ended up playing.

That whole scenario is very gut wrenching.

We are fortunate to have shared a special talent & person.

I don't understand why the media is acting like this is new news.
I remember orgeron and fournette saying before the bowl game that it was O's decision

Great call by coach. Nothing to gain. Everything to lose

Because once O told him he was out, he pursued his NFL career and signed with an agent. Once he did that, he was ineligible and could not be on the sidelines.
