Let's face it, Coach O will be with the program for 2 years, until then, everyone needs to relax. This year may not turn out well, 6-6, is possible, maybe probable, but either way Coach O will get 2 years to right the ship. I don't agree that LSU is a mediocre football program. Yes, they have fallen a notch and that can be fixed.

Agreed, everyone should have reached the acceptance phase by now. The impending demise of LSU football will be televised for your entertainment.

The ship wasn't on it's fricking side when he took over. Can we all stop pretending we're coming out of probation?

Miles got himself fired for winning in a boring arse fashion and for dropping too many SEC games and becoming BAMA's whipping boy. He got fired for underachieving, not for tanking the program.

At no point we were approaching a .500 season with Miles...so why are we talking about approaching one now?

He will get 2 years. I think 2 and a half.

We are mediocre. Good teams don't get beat by Miss St by 30 points.

frick another mid-season firing. That's part of what got us where we are now.

Agreed... I don't like it either. I think there will be strong pressure after the 2018 season but Zero will fight it off with a strong recruiting class coming in and promises. We go 2-2 in 2019 and he is fired.

So what you saying we need to quit holding the program to a high standard. Those 11am bourbon and cheerios games are gonna be a fricking blast.

And, at two years we will owe him six million dollars for his trouble.

not bad and the new toilet paper brand they switched to went from one grade of sand paper to a higher grade of sand paper.

I won't chill out, especially when the anti-O brigade were the ones who saw this coming. O needs to be fired if he has a losing season.

So Miles never got whipped by Mississippi State? At home nonetheless?

Who is responsible for the offensive line and the current roster situation? Les Miles. Let's not pretend that if Les Miles was the coach this game looks much different.

OP is right. Orgeron is going to have more than a year to demonstrate his capability to successfully steer the program. That loss was horrific but it's not enough to make final judgment on Orgeron's suitability to run the team.

Christ...I can only imagine the intellectually dishonesty that would take place in an effort to blame Les Miles for why O took a program that had gone 52-17 since 2011 under him with the worst season being 8-5.

Can you imagine had Miles actually presided over a losing season?

What roster situation are you referring to specifically?

Seriously, the O supporters are already laying the groundwork to completely absolve O of the worst season this millennium. He's gotta get his already severely underwhelming recruiting class in before we can judge him though

LSU just lost to MSU by 30 points while ranked. It's the largest margain of victory for MSU in the history of the series, which dates back to 1896...

109 total games...Ed Oregon now holds the record for worst loss.

So no...Miles never did that.

True...that could have been understood by his inability to run the previous SEC program he was given. Instead, LSU decided to roll the dice with a local boy who promised he learned his lessons well enough to take over the big boy chair. Sure...no other Power 5 conference program was asking he to be their HC, but dammit...it was his dream job, so why not?

at this point, all we can do is wait and see...but I'm not sure why we all need to pretend that IF he succeeds it won't be truly astounding given everything we know about his resume.

One where the offensive line is clearly weak and we have freshmen contributing galore on both sides of the ball. Our WR corps being weak and having 2 freshman QB's as our only alternative to a highly mediocre transfer QB in his senior year.

Or does that sound like a roster dynamic that a coach should waltz into a 10-2 season or he must suck?
