I actually didn't mind taking the bunt off. My question was why not at least take a strike? You're up 2 - 0 in the count and you have a pitcher that may be a bit unnerved because of a leadoff error.

Yeah the guy was throwing them a foot off the plate.

Well, what if he lays down the bunt and the catcher throws it into center field? Then you have first and third with no outs. You have to play the percentages there and make them field the damn ball the same as they did with us earlier in the game. This is Omaha- it's not the time to take unnecessary gambles.

The Tigers lost because UCLA made them play their game

And yet we were 2 routine plays away from winning. Our stellar defense has been anything but that in the postseason.

But a few more hits would be helpful.

I thought for sure that Foster would pinch run for Katz in that situation.

Exactly. I don't see why people don't get it.

Gotta remember Bro, 95% of the people watching now, think baseball started a week and a half ago

Katz got on but he swung at one that was way outside also. I just don't get putting on a hit and run or actually laying a bunt down until the guy throws a strike

Bunt should have stayed on period and CPM knows it, lets just hope he makes the right decision if faced with the same situation again

Hopefully lessons learned, and UNC is toast.

Yep, that's all that we can do right now. Can't change tonight, try to start a new streak Tuesday.

I said to my husband after the second ball..."maybe they'll walk in our tying run..."
thinking the same as you, why swing?

And I swear to God, that man looked at me and said, "Double-play Ray..."

I hate him sometimes.

Disappointing loss, stings a bit but the Tigers aren't out. I wouldn't count this group out yet.

Sounds like he should have trusted his instincts

Sounds like we shouldn't have been down a run at all. Our guys aren't focused too many mental errors. Also batting coach isn't earning his pay check should have made adjustments to plunko's high fastballs after the 3rd inning.

Skip and almost every other coach would have made him throw a strike.

I love how they were praising the kid because he kept throwing cock high fastballs and relying "on the size of the field" and the shitty bats to keep the balls in play.
