I think a lot of people believe that he was thinking that he was not allowed to call a time out while the chains were moving, is what he was saying

Ha I didn't even realize.

But I agree, there were like 10 seconds left, a spike still leaves enough time for a play and a timeout.

Still though. You don't just let the clock run out because they screwed up by starting the clock early.

No doubt.

The chain gang was def not set on LSU's side of the field and Les was actually watching them.

The official chains are on the press box side though, so Miles is still derping there

Im not a Miles lover by no stretch of the imagination, but I pull for our Tigers and will continue to do so and hope that Miles can pull a rabbit out of his Mad Hat, but he has had problems with time outs and clock management ever since the Tenny game in Tiger Stadium his first year and 10 years later, its the same thing. For the life of me, I just cant figure this one out.

I mean this is where I can almost give him a pass (and that's a stretch). I have never stood on the field in Jordan Hare to know where the game clock is. If he knows the clock cant start until the chains are set then watching them instead of the clock makes some sense. Nobody is really talking about the officials screwing up here. But someone else needs to be watching the game clock and let him know at least.

If the chains were indeed moving after a 1st down... Why was the clock ticking?

It seemed like the ref gave them time to move the chains, then set the ball and wound the clock. I guess you could argue that he wound the clock fast but it didn't seem to me that it was unusually fast. I'll go back and look just for fun.

I mean the far chains aren't even close to being set when the clock starts, but ESPN just shows a closeup of Harris.

I wish they did what the NFL does and you can chose your camera angle

while watching live, I thought it seemed as though Miles was expecting Harris to spike it

It did seem like he was waiting on Harris to do something, but Harris was waiting on instructions.

There's obvious confusion and maybe it's protocol related.

I'm really surprised that we can actually agree on it.

I wasn't expecting that, to be honest.

Ok, we've got some common ground!

Some coaches struggle with this aspect of the game. No one is worse than Sean Peyton, constantly wasting timeouts and challenges. There are enough plays to make up for management mistakes.

But can we all just agree on the fact that when it comes to clock management, (1) Miles has no idea what time it is? (ISWYDT)

I mean, (2) he failed that subject.

(3) Les Miles + Timeouts + game clock = WTF?

He didn't take a clock managemnet class from Saban and become smarter. (4) He skipped that class.

We're at the point where (5) you just can't deny you have stripes

When it comes to timeouts and crunchtime, (6) Miles doesn't even know the subject of the issue.

(7) Miles and Clock Management are like burnt roux

You are like a bad comedian...trying way to hard to be witty.

How in the world were you not too embarrassed to post that?
