Louisville:Clemson 10 pts..SEC: Kentucky 13pts, Miss St 28pts

Chickens: Clemson 3pts..SEC: UGA 20pts, UF 27pts, Bama 23pts, MIZ 14pts, UK 24pts, TENN 21pts, Vandy 24pts, TA&M 6

TA&M: Clemson 10pts...SEC: AUB 20pts, Bama 28pts, UGA
13pts, SC 30pts, MISS 24pts, MISS ST 49pts, ARK 31pts,
LSU 7pts (impressive)

FSU: Clemson 14pts ...SEC: UF 17pts

VA: Clemson 17pts..SEC: UF 28pts

GA TECH: Clemson 14pts ..SEC: UGA 7pts

UNC : Clemson 20pts..SEC: Chickens 24pts

So in 21 out of 23 games to common opponents Clemson gave up less points than the SEC. In addition if you take the Upper echelon teams Bama, UGA, UF, AUB ,LSU they have given up less points in 8 out 0f 10 games . BTW TA&M scored a TD with 6 seconds left in the game . Not to mention we held OSU to less points than PSU and WISC (twice ) and those were both top ten scoring defenses. You guys have the unquestionable best offense in the country but don't kid yourself with this ACC weak schedule crap we can play some D boys.

Did you convince yourself that your team isn't in trouble yet?

Nice stat work, but it’s all irrelevant to the upcoming game. LSU is improving on D in every game starting with TAMU, and Burrow was pissed that he left points on the field in the OU game and is working to improve it.

I think we have reason to be optimistic (not that Clemson doesn’t, they field a damn good team).

This is just an otherworldly season for us that seems to be operating in an alternate reality. It’s like they’ve figured out the matrix.

Bottom half SEC teams gave up similar point totals to y’all on several occasions. This doesn’t account for quality of SEC opponent, and we’re still going to beat y’all’s fricking asses in 9 days

if you would stick with good defensive teams like Bama, Auby, UGA, and UF, i would take this post more seriously.

Including teams like Tenn, Vandy, and Miss St is just stat padding for your argument

Both cannot be true. This dude cannot demonstrate how Clemson giving up fewer points to USC than UGA did translates to this game.

Even looking at the one common opponent, aTm, would not make this argument meaningful. However, LSU scored more on aTm than Clemson did and gave up fewer points.

it's a good think you can play some d. UNC might have almost beaten you otherwise.

Frankly, it is probably the best college offense in history.

don't kid yourself with this ACC weak schedule

The ACC is an extraordinarily weak P5 conference right now. That's not Clemson's fault - Clemson is the clearly elite team of the ACC and worthy of the playoffs. We don't have to lie about the ACC for that to be true.

we can play some D boys.

Clemson? Sure. The rest of the conference? Not so much. Even the SEC - the premier defensive league in all of college football (and generally throughout history) has shifted focus to offense for most of the traditional powers.

And even still, Florida, Bama, Auburn, UGA and, yes, LSU field 5 of the Top 10 or Top 12 defenses in all of CFB for 2019.
