Developments on the Will Wade front. Per source, Clemson has entered the mix. His agent is also looking for a high $2M/yr contract #VCU

Well who didn't see THAT coming. As suspected, it is Herman 2.0.

You didn't hear see any real smoke before Illinois, Washington, and NC State made their hires. LSU is a pawn between Wade and Clemson. The info was leaked by Wade's agent. Alleva is an amateur

2mil? It's crazy how far behindbasketball coaches salaries are to football.

If 2mil can get us one of these dynamite CBB coach, then there should be no excuses In this search. Half of the reason for hiring O was that we "saved money"

Use the money we didn't spend to get Herman to turn the dumpster fire we call Basketball program around with a coach like Crean or Wade.

Lol exactly. You'd think he would have to know there will be suitors for any worthwhile candidate, but he's already shown us he's not interested in a real search.

If this rumor is true, Alleva will drop Wade immediately. Who next?

Coaches Aranda and Canada took up the surplus.

Basketball also does not bring as much money as Football. TV rights are not even in the same region as basketball.
Merchandise sales are also much lower.

You are comparing apples and oranges when it comes to salaries

No one even knows if Wade is a legit candidate. Now, supposedly we might lose him. LOL

Oh well, maybe they can talk to Forbes before OKST gets to him. Always thought Forbes would be a better fit At LSU with his ties to the region.

Alleva may in fact be an amateur, but how does he have any control over what Wade and Clemson does?

He may not even be LSU's top candidate.

I agree. Forbes would be outstanding but I haven't seen him mentioned much for whatever reason

VCU's season ended Thursday. If he is your guy, then you go in with a strong offer immediately knowing the landscape (i.e. Clemson grad. Clemson may be looking to make a change). Use Clemson's inactivity to your advantage.

Mizzou zeroed in on their guy. They hire him the day after his season ended. Same for NC State. Same for Illinois. Especially Illinois and Mizzou. They moved quick with big offers knowing they were going to have to fight off some competition.

If Wade was he guy, the Joe HAD to know Clemson as well as VCU would be in play. If you want him, you make a strong offer immediately knowing you are going to have to fight off some competition.
