Surprise surprise. Clemson isn't as good as they're made out to be and LSU isn't as bad. The Syracuse games proves that.

I know this is about the LSU/Clemson offense, but the 117 total yards Auburn had against Clemson stands out the most.

It doesn't prove anything, nor does the Auburn game. The transitive property doesn't work in sports.

ETA - To be clear, it's nice to look at, but a direct comparison is tough to make.

You could make a slightly modified opposite argument on the defensive stats. LSU isn't as good as they were made out to be and Clemson is better than they were made out to be.

This also shows that our defense is not in the same league as Clemson's.

Auburns best player didn't play vs Clemson. Kerryon Johnson was out. Their offense would have been much better with him.

Also of note, Clemson only managed 281 yards offense vs Auburn. We had 363.

agreed.
But do you think that if LSU was ranked #2 and lost to an unranked Syracuse team that lost to a team that lost to Troy that we would only fall 4 or 5 spots?
I don't. We would fall out of the top 10 altogether.
