Hmmm
Ranks Wade 14th out of 14 when he's never coached a game in the SEC and LSU fans get all upset....
Ranks Ed O 12th out of 14 and no one gives a crap??? Man this board is on crazy pills. Yeah he's one of us and all that BS ya'll wanna believe

I'm not worried. He's new to the league and done absolutely nothing in the SEC. Once he starts coaching, I imagine this ranking will get shuffled pretty quickly.

I don't think people read the opening paragraph where he explains his ranking criteria:
Still, I would put Howland above Barnes based upon that. Barnes may have more NCAAT wins (barely), but Howland has a much better winning %
Wade is only 1-2 vs. the SEC (of course that was while he was at UTC and VCU) Coincidentally, his only win vs. a SEC opponent came against LSU this past season

(Essentially I am ranking these guys based on NCAA tourney trips and success once they get there. So my top four, for instance, are the only four to ever advance to the Final Four of the NCAA tourney.)

Is this a joke?
I think it's kinda silly, but Wade has proven absolutely nothing in the SEC so it makes sense to some extent.

Even a John Wooden/Adolph Rupp/Frank McGuire McBasketball chimera wouldn't win with the talent deficit that will be the Tiger 2017-18 team. The attrition that has afflicted this program is stunning.

The fact that he ranks Sumlin as the 3rd best football coach in the conference should tell you something.

Why does wade have to earn respect but Cuonzo Martin doesn't? Both have zero games coached in the SEC
You do realize Quonzo coached at Tennessee and went to the Elite 8 there?

Was listening to Sports Today yesterday and Charlie was talking about this. He prefaced it by saying that Clay Travis isn't exactly known for his astute analysis, but for his clickbait sort of articles. They seemed to think it was fair, only in the sense that Wade hasn't ever coached in the SEC yet, and it's also based on what he's inheriting.
On the bright side, we can only go up from here!

Orgeron has coached in the SEC and he was utterly terrible. If this list was based on previous SEC results he should absolutely be 14.

Sports fans who are smart know wade was a weak hire.
You know.... I appreciate when someone posts things like you just did. Right off the bat it lets me know that i can ignore your future opinions on lsu basketball or college basketball in general. So thanks.

Ed orgeron should be 14th. In 2016 Derek Mason won as many sec games at vandy than Coach O won in his entire tenure at ole miss. Ed orgeron has the worst resume as any HC in the sec.

Jones was 15th, so technically this is an improvement.

Nowhere to go but up, then.
But, seriously, Clay Travis is just attempting to provoke a response. There's nothing wrong with that, but it is what it is.
