People wont rise against each other , they will rise against government that's called a revolution and yes I agree with them our government needs an over haul. Hell the people even elected a muslim president after 911 to show the stupidity that exists in America today.

So much stupid, so little time.

Newsflash: The US government is comprised of AMERICANS.

Newsflash II: Rauf was criticizing the US government as being tyrannical, just like the preppers are doing.

Black Moslem calls US government tyrannical = TRAITOR!

White conservative calls US government tyrannical = PATRIOT!

Can you not see the hypocrisy you're promoting?

And before you go jumping to false conclusions, yes, I see many of our problems today as a result of liberal policies of our federal government.

I saw this guy play, to me he was the greatest LSU ball player of my time and I'm very far from being a liberal. Like most players, except Shaq, I stopped following once they hit the pro's because they all seem to change and most not in a good way. So to me he will always be Chris Jackson the greatest LSU bball player I had the good fortune to see at a live sporting event. The game was against Mississippi State and even though LSU lost man that kid was something special.

Like I said, Muslim faith is not a friend of Christianity

The converse is also true. That's the very nature of faith. If you are pissed at him in the name of faith you validate intolerance.

is not a friend of any country where people want to enjoy freedom

Freedom to do what? Practice one's faith? If you take pride on this Western European philosophy, practice it.
quote:

It's a big deal to change your name

Not sure why? People take their spouse' lastname. Some have hyphenated names. Non-Christians take up Christian names - some non anglicized names sound like Muslim names. Eli/Elias, Yakub/Jacob etc. Some Chinese even take English names to make it easier to converse with locals. Sometimes to avoid discrimination. You know Pope Francis is not his real name. He assumed it after a religious ceremony.

and then say America is a Tyrannical government

There are militia men and Tea partiers who have been protesting government tyranny. People have protested lack of suffrage, civil rights, regulations yada yada. In fact a whole lot of states protested and even seceded from the US.

and refuse to stand for the anthem? ... You're ok with this?

Yes. You have to guarantee freedom even when its uncomfortable. When people died to safeguard freedoms it was not selective. CJ's freedoms were also included in that.

Let me end in a rant way. You cannot guarantee freedom to wear hot pants on campus when you see a pretty girl and take it away when don't agree with the look.

Does FOX News require its viewers to repress everything they learned in 9th grade civics classes, or did some of these posters not make it to the 9th grade?

When Jackson says Tyrannical government ...he is referring to foreign policy towards Muslim countries ...

When white dude says tyrannical he is referring to the burden of heavy taxation and interference with commerce...

Is it just my imagination, or have I seen whitey blame tyrannical government for the occasional absence of a nativity scene on government property, lack or loudspeaker-amplified prayer in public schools, and the occasional taking down of the Ten Commandments in a courtroom?

More or less the same thing Mahmoud claimed. "The tyrannical government of the United States doesn't do everything that my religion wants it to do." Same dopey stuff all around.

In the majority of Muslim countries women exercise varying degrees of rights with regards to marriage, divorce, civil rights, legal status, dress code, and education, but the US government which gives all people full rights in those personal areas is seen by Rauf as tyrannical.

I suggest he goes to somewhere in the Muslim world and insults one of their tradition's if he wants to see tyrannical behavior.

Yeah I've been around a long time. I have heard this opinion from the Vietnam War on. First of all you claim to speak for god and know what he supports and doesn't. Interesting. Then there is the anti-America rant. What is America? Isn't it all of the people that make it up? Doesn't our constitution, which is what all of our government officials take oathes to support, say that each of us should have free speech? And last but not least, how have any of the wars we have fought in the last 50 years protected my rights? Seems to me they were fought for economic gain so that the top 1% of the wealthy could get wealthier. The two Gulf wars were about Oil. 911 was the excuse they needed to invade and take over the oil fields. I guess they were protecting my right to pay high gas prices and make them even richer. If you like crushing any voices of dissent and making the government all powerful, why don't you move to Red China? They do an excellent job of that there.

So what? They both have a point.

I'm tired of the government taking my money in order to prop up tyrannical governments (like in Saudi Arabia) and killing thousands of innocent people half way around the world - often times in the middle of the night.

I'm also tired of the government taking my money to give to other Americans too lazy to work for their own money. And placing suffocating regulations on American entrepreneurs.

You don't have to buy into the us versus them false dichotomy that is the basis of our political system. You can actually choose to accept ideas from both sides, and reject ideas from both sides - at the same time. That's not being unprincipled, it's being thoughtful and independent-minded.

Now this has gone WAY over to the PT side. I might have to RA myself.

Can we agree that it's difficult to see anybody you care about embrace a failed ideology/belief system? Islam is truly wretched to anybody who cares about human freedom and where it thrives, human beings suffer. What we broadly call "Western Democracy" has been the highest expression of human freedom, not some 12th Century superstition that spawns child-bombers and gay-stonings and killing 3000 Americans in a single morning.

CJ has ALWAYS had psychological problems. That is well-documented. It does not surprise me that with his extremely limited intelligence and education that he would embrace Islam. I would not have been surprised had he embraced crack cocaine or Scientology either. He's a flaky dude who attached himself to some half-baked nonsense. That doesn't make him a bad human being. In fact, I think Chris has always been a really good guy on a personal basis. Just a really good guy in a lot of physical and psychological turmoil.

I will continue to pull for Chris and wish him well. But I'm not going to take my personal feelings for Chris and pretend that he doesn't have a warped value system that in many critical ways are the antithesis of American values.

You mean that poem about a pointless war against a country who was fighting European tyranny at the time, written by a lawyer, and put to the tune of an English drinking song, and not adopted until our country was already 155 years old? That anthem?

"Then conquer we must when our cause it is just
And this be our motto -- 'In God is our Trust'"

Yeah, it sucks. frick that shite, it's a horrible anthem.
