Need a little help from those with some experience. For the first time in a very long time me and my crew are not setting up a tailgate because of our kids youth football schedule. We were thinking about just watching the Alabama Tennessee game at either walk ons or chimes.

Any guidance on to which one would be less crowded? Or which one may have more available space? I'm not sure if those places are complete clusterfrick on game days or not because I'm always on campus.

Any help would be appreciated. We park at the corner of South stadium and Highland so I think the walk is manageable either way

Chimes East should have the space

Varsity is great because of the big screen

If chimes is too crowded, you could always go to the Varsity and watch on the big screen. They also have food there and good beer specials for game.

Y'all don't have any other friends with tailgates?

Overall, both great places, but I give Chimes the edge because it's a great combo bar/grill/restaurant. Walkons is more bar/grill.

Chimes has better burgers, steak, and seafood than many places that specialize in those items.

Having said that, I have no idea which place would have more elbow room to watch gumps-Tennessee. Both are within a stones throw of Tiger Stadium.

First of all, whoever it was, thank you for the downvote. I'm sure my question offended you

But yes, we have friends elsewhere. Our crew just wanted to try something different..... trying to follow my boy coach O's lead and mix things up.

I like the varsity / Chimes option

Keep the input coming....

Walkons atmosphere kills the chimes. I always feel dirty when I'm at the chimes.

You call yourself the "king of New Orleans" and you feel "dirty" at Chimes?

That's not too conducive to going to the LSU game afterward

No, I'd imagine not. Would have helped me to actually read the entire post, I suppose.

I can't speak about walk ons, but chimes is always packed on game day. You should try barcadia instead. I don't know how good the food is, but its another option.
