In Ware's defense he had to do baseball and spring football at the same time
He probably forgot he wasn't at football practice
that catcher gave him no path to the plate, good for Ware
what the catcher did there is now illegal

That is far from "running over" the catcher

looking at it now, that looks like a cheap shot.

That's the only thing close to a football player "running over a catcher" that has happened

1000% it was cheap. Slid spikes up into the catcher's leg

Huh?
He slid into home, like a baseball player. And if anything it looks like he slid spike up and it caught the catcher in the thigh.

Thought was one with upper body contact. Where catcher literally gets hammered. Maybe not chad jones, but sure thought it was. Definitely not the one posted of Ware. But thanks. Will keep digging.

what Ware did is illegal. Catcher already had the ball before Ware started his slide. There's nothing wrong under the rules with that. You just can't impede the runners path to a base without being in the act of fielding the ball. A runner cannot slide with his spikes up and leg raised into a base. That's an auto out under the rules.

That's been an auto-ejection in the college game for decades. I don't recall that happening in a game of ours in a long, long time

World is full of pussies now. Don't block the plate. Lucky he didn't get the Pete Rose treatment.

Chad was a beast one of my all time LSU players in both baseball and football

I miss the days of stud football players playing baseball.
