CFN's assessment is obvious. We all know this.

Harris is the key

Imperative that the Manning Passing School this summer teach him how to correctly throw the short pass: over incoming linemen, swing to backs, across the middle,etc..

First need to sit him down and make him write 1,000 times, " I must master the short pass".... then have him practice various short passes all day long until he virtually sees the trajectory of pass in his mind before he throws it...

If he fails it will be a replay of defenses playing close to line daring him to prove them wrong.....

this sounds like every season?

I'd say only difference is the amount of returning veteran starters and leadership.

No, no you don't. LSU was preseason #14 last year, #13 in 2014, and #12 in 2013. The last time you heard this much hype was 2012 when we were #3 in the preseason poll and coming off a 13-1 season.

Yea, LSU has pretty consistently met or exceeded pre-season expectations under Miles; the only years where LSU has significantly under-performed relative to preseason rankings were years where the team had an inflated ranking due to appearances in the BCSCG the prior season (2008 and 2012).

AP Poll Start and Finish:
2005 - #5, #6
2006 - #8, #3
2007 - #2, #1
2008 - #7, Unranked
2009 - #11, #17
2010 - #21, #8
2011 - #4, #2
2012 - #3, #14
2013 - #13, #14
2014 - #13, #22
2015 - #14, #16

LSU has occasionally ended up with higher expectations around mid-season and then failed to meet those new mid-season expectations, but the preseason national expectations for LSU have been pretty spot-on.

Yeah people like to tout that LSU and Miles don't meet expectations, but that's mostly untrue and greatly exaggerated.

... one of the nation's best coaching staffs ...

This article lost all credibility right there. I'll take the DC and the DL coach. The rest of the staff can recruit and is meh otherwise, especially the head coach with his 1975 Big Ten offensive game plans.

It should be real easy, put a coaching staff in place that will maximize the very high talent level we have in the program. Don't feel like we have gotten the most out of our talent in a long time.

I get that sentiment, but at the same time, we haven't had that talent on both sides of the ball since 2011 either. Our best guys were concentrated on one side of the ball or the other since then. This is the first time we have playmakers and veteran talent spread throughout the roster since 2011. Even if you believe we've underachieved lately, this is the highest realistic expectations we've had in a long time.

10-2 is more realistic, but this year even that would be a massive disappointment.

You got that right, brah.
