CEO sent a clear message - the QB is live - if your my QB - earn it !!!

All SG's are a joke with the can't hit the QB BS !
I loved seeing 1's vs 1's and the D getting off on putting pressure on the QB. SEC football 101 - kill the QB.
Danny has to learn to deal with what is given and he folds under Bama / Gator pressure during the season last year. He folded under Tiger pressure last night and it is clear to me as a Senior that he will not be our QB as most of you are sure that he will be. The fact they did not protect the starting QB in the SG sends that message to all clearly.
A new system with a OL that was clueless to what the D brought just dialed up a little shows where we are in the spring but they have a long way to go until Sept.
I am worried about the QB position along with ST play. If LSU can't find a kicker to get the ball deep into the end-zone CEO will just have to explain that to me.

We are fuked....jk, but on the flip side both Bama qbs lit up their defense so maybe they are not as strong this year defensively.

What I get out of the live QB is that he has enough QB's behind Eling that if he got hurt anyone of them behind Etling would not change the talent level.
And an added note, if they had gone to a second half we may have seen more of the other QB's or Narcisse iof he wasn't going to be kept out.

I think the clear message is that Danny has not won the job and I am not going to protect him - I saw on TV Canada talking with Danny and he didn't look happy walking away after talking to him and then looked back at him - ( that is not going to be my starting QB ) I heard him think that - pretty sure !

Kept telling all these people that expecting Etling to be any more than extremely mediocre is stupid. If he is the starter for the entire year, forget winning anything more than 10 games (bowl game included).

I have kicked the dog more than once this morning - I will just add I agree with you
The season will be about beating BYU / Gators / Bama
You can tell that Canada expects a quick minder quick feet quick pass QB - can he turn Danny into that - don't know - I do know that is not what I saw last night - You can tell what Canada is up to - get the D on it's heels and keep it going - loved the pace - All QB play didn't match expectations - OL was a mess - D with their ears pinned back had the upper hand
Good news - our D will be a handful for any QB
Canada has a great deal of work to do but guys this is what he does - he has always hit game 1 ready to go with his best QB on the team ready for
game 1 !!!!

Etling did not fold under Florida pressure last year.
He was 14-25 for 204 yards. 0 interceptions.
We lost that game, but not because of QB play. Could he have been better? Of course, but he sure as hell didn't fold.
Bama is a different story, but then Bama is a different team and year in/year out is the team to beat not only in the SEC West, but the SEC in general and the nation.

Great point. His passing was instrumental in getting them down to the goal line to almost pull the game out at the end. Failure to score was not on Etling.

stats don't always reflect a game
I watched the game - Danny lost to Gators and Bama
2 best D's we played last year
A weak arm passer on the run is a double weak arm passer = Danny
I agree we should have won the Gator game but it should of not have come down to the last play
Not all Danny's fault but - he didn't show me what I was expecting a Senior bright young man to show me last night

Been saying it for a while. Etling and BH are the same QB but Harris had more upside. People love DE just because they started hating BH so much and finally go new blood.
There's a reason he lost his job to another guy that lost his job at Purdue and they both transferred to the only conference desperate enough to take a chance on them. If he was a 5th year senior, he would be 5th string. He would not start at any other SEC school. I don't think his seniority without decent play can help us get where we need to go without. Good kid, just doesn't seem to have it.

Not protecting the QB is unwise in Spring games, IMO.
Just because CEO "sent a clear message" doesn't mean it is a smart thing to do.

I think a lot of us were hoping that Scott would emerge, but the fact that McMillan is #2 is really disheartening.
