No he didn't. Mett was at Georgia and in JC before he came to LSU. The only quarterbacks that have been developed from scratch under Miles and his OC's and played substantial time are Lee, Jefferson, Jennings, and Harris.
You are a moron. Lee and Jefferson took LSU to the Cotton Bowl and won it with an 11-2 season. Lee and Jefferson won the SEC and took LSU to a national championship game. Jennings started for one season, his true sophomore year. Harris has started for only one season, his true sophomore year. Harris is far too young to assess whether he will be a good QB.

I like how you use his freshman year as an argument against development while ignoring the stats he put up his senior year.

His redshirt freshman season* and I didn’t post stats. But I will…

Redshirt freshman season:
quote:

Connected on 143-of-269 passes (53%) for 1,873 yards and 14 touchdowns and 500000000 interceptions ... Ranked second to Tommy Hodson in LSU history for freshman quarterbacks in yards, touchdowns, attempts and completions

Benched for redshirt sophomore and redshirt junior season for Jordan Jefferson.

Redshirt senior season after 5 years in program:
quote:

Threw 13 touchdowns and three interceptions in his nine starts at a 62% clip. Good for 100 yards a game which ranks him 9th in the SEC

So after 5 years, he was able to not frick up enough and throw for 100 yards a game and let all-time historically incredible defense and great RB rotation win games. Then was benched for being completely overwhelmed at Alabama and never saw the field again.

Talk about insane development for one of the top HS QBs in the country!

There's literally no point in carrying this on with you. Lee was leading the SEC in efficiency, had a 13:1 TD: INT ratio going in to Bama and got benched because of 2 passes against Bama. Miles's love for JJ has absolutely nothing to do with JLee's development. And short fields mean nothing when you move the ball well. He'd have had more yards if the fields weren't shorter.

If you can't be at least a little honest and give credit for what the staff did to someone with brutally crushed confidence from 2008, I'm not going to bother.

If you can teach NFL QBs new tricks shouldn't you be able to teach college guys the basics?

Not necessarily

Look at the college stats of the afore mentioned qbs and their draft status. These guys were all drafted to be the franchise qb.Does Cameron deserve some credit? Sure, but how much?

I'm with you but every QB drafted in the first 2 rounds is supposed to be a franchise QB. More times than not, it doesn't work out. CC is 3/3. Is he just lucky? maybe. but maybe not

Look at people like RG3, Jamarcus, Matt Leinart etc. Plenty of amazing college QBs go to the NFL high in the draft and suck. You're being ridiculous.

You are absolutely correct. I've been on this conspiracy ever since mett left. Les miles ruins black qbs straight up. This is no intent to start a race war. I'm just stating the obvious.

This should be changed to mobile QBs. Johnny Football wouldn't have done shite in our offense either.

let's give you Lee as Les's top QB that's developed under his regime. What does that really tell you?

That Les didn't get credit for the first 3 years of his regime, had to kick off a high recruit that put Lee in a really bad situation to start, didn't get credit for '12 or '13, and is only in year 2 since then. We don't have a whole lot that can count for Les according to this place.

A QB that destroyed two BCS bowl game winners that season.

Dude it's been 11 years and he's picked one guy out of HS that was average at best in his final year. The rest have either sucked or transferred because they sucked. There's no spinning that.

Highest rated passer in the SEC in 2011 is average at best... OK.

Those are nice stats and nice improvements but there is one thing I don't see anyone talking about. Yes coach cam did a good job with those 3 PRO STYLE DROP BACK QB's! Cam may have all the necessary skills to develop that type of qb. HARRIS IS NOT A DROP BACK PRO STYLE QB! there are only 3 options.

Change the QB style to fit the offense (this is what they have been doing and it's not working).

OR change to a different type of offense to fit your QBs style of play (dual threat/ spread) which may require a different O coordinator.

OR find a different QB to fit the style of offense you want to run.

This is why Mett has been the only successful QB so far under this system. He was already a pro style drop back passer.

It is a fact to say our 4 year cycle championships only work with white QB's

This falls on CLM not CC

I've seen several people, myself included, saying that we need to adjust the type of QB recruit we target.
