Here's what you need to know: He might be the next great Vikings pass rusher.
Over their history, the Vikings have had plenty of dominant pass-rushing ends, players like Carl Eller, Chris Doleman and Jared Allen. Hunter isn't in that class yet, and he's probably the second-best defensive end on his team to Everson Griffen, but the potential is there for him to be a 15-sack player with more playing time.

"I had him come to my office, and I said, 'I want you to explain to me what you were being taught to do.' So we're sitting there, and he's explaining to me how they were teaching him to rush. Well, you run [a 40-yard dash in] 4.5 [seconds]. But you take off on the snap of the ball, and you run wide. Now, the offensive tackle just kicks back and waits on you. You might as well be running 4.9, 5-flat. And number two, I don't think he was exposed to how the offensive lineman was trying to pass protect against him. He was just out there, using his athleticism and trying to make something happen. The first thing I wanted to do was find out what he knew and why I was seeing what I was seeing."
