CBS is going to use their double header to put A&M Bama in the prime time slot for some stupid bickering between two old dudes. A&M will be down 30 at halftime. Meanwhile LSU Tennessee will be a 230 game for what will likely be the most electric tiger stadium will be since 2019. Who actually cares about the Saban-Jimbo rivalry? Pretty sure people would rather watch a game that is going to be competitive than that. At least CBS contract is up soon…

Their logic is 100% based on the match up that will attract the most viewers. The same logic that all stations and cable networks have.

Georgia-Auburn will be the 2:30 pm timeslot. UGA is the number 1 ranked team and this is the deep-south's oldest football rivalry. LSU-Tennessee will be on ESPN.

Maybe fans won’t have to moan about getting home after midnight

Auburn is terrible. It will not be a CBS game.

I hate day games in tiger stadium. I love them away.

Death Valley should only have games at night.

Georgia, on the other hand, is again, the number 1 ranked team. We'll follow-up in a week and see who ends up being right, but LSU-Tenneessee is going to be an ESPN game and will either kickoff at 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

Bama is the #2 ranked team. Vandy is terrible. Why wasn’t that a CBS game? It was over by the end of the first quarter. Don’t try to tell me that Auburn Georgia will be a CBS game because of the history, auburn sucks.

When I read your first post I just assumed you were kidding, just hoping it would be the case. But you actually think that could happen. Wow.

If LSU beats Auburn, CBS isn't bypassing a top 10 4-0 Tennessee and a 4-1 likely top 25 LSU in favor of UGA kicking a lame duck Auburns arse. Particularly when CBS is likely to pick up a bunch of UGA games from late October to mid November

10/29 vs Florida (already confirmed on CBS)
11/5 vs Tennessee
11/19 vs Kentucky

This is correct. Last year it was a very competitive game. Shouldn’t be this year but look at what Arky did. A&M didn’t win Arky lost.

ESPN doesn’t get SEC games at night when cbs has a night game. The SEC network gets a game. LSU Tenn will be 230 and it will be announced at noon tomorrow.

Charles Hanagriff discussed this last night on his show and noted that it's CBS's MO to choose the number 1 ranked team when given the opportunity. History has shown this to be true.

In 2011 and 2019, respectively, CBS televised so many LSU games those seasons where LSU was way better than their opponents (recall LSU-Florida, LSU-Auburn in 2011, and LSU-Miss State in 2019), because CBS liked to have the highest ranked team, more so than competitive games. CBS thinks that people are more likely to tune in and watch a game because they like to see the number 1 ranked team. I think this is dumb, but it's CBS's strategy.

As to Vandy-Alabama, CBS had only one time slot last week and chose a top 25 showdown with Florida and Tennessee. CBS has historically aired that game for historical and ratings reasons, just as they do with the Auburn-Georgia game.

Remember that a struggling 2 loss A/M team took down Bama last year. That was going to be the prime time game unless A/M lost 3 early.

Won't be either of those times on ESPN.

Pretty sure only the SEC Network is allowed to broadcast a game where an SEC team is the home team while CBS uses its annual day/night doubleheader.

For example, below is last year's SEC TV schedule on that day:

Time – Matchup, Network
11 a.m. CT – Vanderbilt at Florida, SEC Network
11 a.m. CT – South Carolina at Tennessee, ESPN2
11 a.m. CT – Arkansas at Ole Miss, ESPN
2:30 p.m. CT – Georgia at Auburn, CBS
3 p.m. CT – North Texas at Missouri, SEC Network
6:30 p.m. CT – LSU at Kentucky, SEC Network
7 p.m. CT – Alabama at Texas A&M, CBS
