Barash , A&Ms catcher who wasn't good enough to stay at LSU vs. Papierski.
Anyone know how they compared stat wise?
I know they were stealing like crazy on Pap early in series.

He was good enough. Just wasn't going to get an opportunity soon enough for him. So he went JUCO, signing with A&M and has played every year. If we still had Barash, good chance we don't have Pap or possibly Latz who was somewhat a package deal. We would likely have brought a C in this year's class instead of last year's.

It is not hard to steal when the pitcher throws the ball in the dirt. Lange's CB is so nasty that it is often in the dirt.

I thought Barash left because he wasn't going to play in front of Scivique and/or Chinea.

I didn't think Pap had anything to do with him.

He was behind Ty Ross (Jr) and Chris Chinea (Fr). No one really to blame on either side, he wanted playing time but LSU was in a position to win a championship. There was no way he was going to get at bats in 2013 and he bolted.

And Moore. He didn't leave until after we brought in Scivicque the next year (2014) and it was apparent during the fall that Chi, Kade, and Moore were still ahead of him with Kade and Chi still around in 2015. Just didn't have the room.

Pap wasn't a factor in Barash's decision. But not having Barash was a factor in recruiting an elite C for the 2015 class.

A lot of this plays into in-state vs out of state and the 11.7 scholarships (plus the associated rules) along with TOPS.

What ever happened with Cody Glenn.

Would Dakota Dean be starting had he stayed? He looks legit this year I believe?

Glenn is at Lipscomb. He's doing very well. Dean could play 1B. Bryd could play 3B. Zardon could be DHing. We are missing his experience IMO.

Ironically, Danny Z had the game winning walk-off hit in last year's first game vs A&M. They showed it during one of the games this weekend.

2015 LSU #1 vs A&M #2 Zardon game winner
