I'm hearing some "what-if's" from Tiger fans regarding a loss on Jan. 9th.

Let's not fall into that 2003, Southern Cal BS logic of a split National Title if we finish #1 in AP, etc.

The crystal ball is the only thing that matters, and whoever has it when the game is over is THE National Champion, period.

That said, AJ McCarron is going to regret his decision to play the game of football come Jan. 9. This dude is going to get absolutely hammered in The Dome. It will be beautiful.

Bring on the rematch.

Let's freakin' rumble.

lol...

but i'll leave that cool there because i 100% agree with you. Although i think it will be fun to hear all the talk it would generate...BUT like you said, we won't see it.

Couldn't agree more. If we lose I want no part of the title. That's a bitch move by losers who cannot deal with defeat. If bama wins than they win I don't want to be part of a whiney fan base like USC

I've watched the LSU/bama game again several times and I don't fear playing them again. We will be ready again.

Bama (and the media) try to create an invincible bama and they slobber over Saban and wish he would have won the first game.

I'm pretty sure it's tough to play a game twice if you've won the first one but lets play the game Jan 9th and see. I like the character of this team and don't think they're intimated.

Exactly! Even if we somehow lose -- which we probably won't -- I will forever remember 2011 as 1) The year that we beat Bama AT Bryant-Denny in "The Game of the Century" and 2) a year in which we won the SEC and Bama came in 3rd.

Cleetus - WTF? 44 points against that defense! I guess we could get a punt return (or 3) and an interception or so + kickoff for TD. We may get half that total on offense which should be enough to win the championship!

We'll need to win the field position battle as well. I like the way you're thinking. Think I'll do some Christmas cards and enjoy the winter day.

it's so far away and it was only jefferson's second game back I think. Miles is a master when he has a month to prepare and I have a feeling he's been keeping a few tricks on hold because he knew we wouldn't need them up till now. I just don't see their offense scoring very many points against our defense so I really hope we can come out firing on offense

Un Like bama I don't want a part of the NC if we don't win. I don't want to be in the group like USC in 07 who claim anything! What a bunch of pussy's. I think we will see a great match up so may the best team win. I do think they are the best 2 teams in the country.

SC didn't whine about the 2003 AP National Championship. We were glad to have it. Shitload of other folks whined about it though.

We were miffed about Oklahoma getting in to the BCSCG after being curbstomped by KSU. You would have been, too. All it would have taken was for Hawaii to have beaten Boise State.

This is a different scenario though. If LSU loses to Bama in the BCSCG, several bad things happen:

1. A team that lost at home to LSU now claims the BCSCG after going 1-1 vs. LSU
2. Bama's BCS title diminishes LSU's SEC Championship. How can LSU be the "real SEC Champs" when (since BCS>SEC) Bama is the better team?
3. There's no tiebreaker. You're 1-1 against Bama, you lose the season series. It just shitcans everything the Tigers have earned on the field this season.

Seems like a pretty shitty thing to do to ignore their accomplishments by saying "If we don't win the BCSCG, we've done nothing worthy of a MNC", but hey it's your team.

yes 44 is being aggressive, but I really do not think this game is going to be close.

I will admit that I have been a vocal critic of Les Miles playing JJ over JL because of what JL did for this team and how well he played (yes most of it was i was bored and just liked getting in the argument, bad I know). That said I do believe JJ is going to have a career game and that the tigers are playing for a purpose and to make a statement.

No, actually that would be called living in reality.

We can't pick and choose the system that makes our respective team look the best.

We can't approve one system (BCS) and then say that it's an illegitimate system and endorse another one entirely(AP) just because things didn't go our way.

The BCS is the system we play by whether we like it or not.

To claim a "National Championship" when you are, in FACT -- "fact" being the key word, here -- not a National Champion is delusional and false and makes a person look really dumb.

In "real" football world, there are no valid or invalid arguments, no polls, no "what if's" or "yeah, but's".

There is a game and there is a winner and a loser. Period.

Winner take all. If you thought USC was stupid then you must agree that winner takes all in Nawlins. Period.

It will be winner take all. I hope that LSU wins, because I feel they've done what it takes to earn the Championship.

The silver lining if Bama wins (for non-LSU fans anyway) is that the BCS will have to be restructured after a complete clusterfluck of a season.
